After having read and enjoyed other books by this author, I was eager to try this one. I love werewolf stories and the blurb was intriguing. I also got a bit of a shocker too when I began reading this shorter piece. Werewolf zombies? Go figure!
It’s been a year since Liam kicked Kyle out of their pack and Emma went along with the decision refusing to leave with him. Now, she is in desperate need of his help so she swallows her fears over what is happening and fear of his rejection to approach him.
Kyle is still angry and wounded over Em’s choice to let him go. He wants to refuse her, but just having her in his presence brings all his old tender and passionate feelings back in a rush. He never stopped caring and he can’t turn his back in her particularly when he sees what she and the rest of the pack are up against- mindless, raving werewolves controlled by the pack leader, Liam.
This one jumps right in with no set up though it isn’t that hard to figure out most of what happened in the past and what’s going on in the present. It’s a short story that has a nice solid plot. I wanted a little more about what was behind the whole black magic and zombie-ish curse stuff but for the most part I was well satisfied with the second chance for Kyle and Emma, their passionate encounters and the danger elements.
I would recommend this one for the paranormal romance lovers who are just looking for a quick, short yet satisfying read.
My thanks to Net Galley for the book for review purposes
