Tony and Mark have loved Hailey for only slightly shorter than they have known her. They are Hailey’s older brother’s best friends. Both have been waiting for Hailey to notice or pick one of them. Hailey has loved these two men for years, but can’t choose one and ruin their friendship, so she won’t go after either one. The day before she leaves on vacation with her brother, his wife and best friends, Hailey breaks up with her abusive boyfriend. Never does she dream Daniel will want her back and go to terrible actions to get her back.

The men have decided they can’t handle her choosing one of them, so they will share her…just as soon as they let her know that. On a magical island with surf and sun, Tony and Mark make their intensions known and press Hailey to face her feelings for them. But none of them want Jake, Hailey’s brother, to find out just yet. Slowly one by one, each person at the vacation house figures out they are a threesome with Jake exploding when he finds out, causing the young lovers to leave.

While gone, Daniel shows up and attacks Nikki, Jakes wife. This causes everyone to start taking seriously that Daniel isn’t about to let Hailey go. They change plans of when to come home, secure up Hailey’s house after they find it vandalized and start a court proceeding for a restraining order against Daniel. Daniel escalates his attacks, as the men are trying to keep Hailey safe, but to also figure out how to handle the threesome relationship.

This was an interesting look at how a threesome comes into being without there ever being a thought of it in the past. It was kind of unbelievable how accepting a few people were about them all as a couple. Not that I would be un-accepting, it just isn’t something you would believe family members would be so openly accepting of without some discussion.

What I do commend is the guys realizing Hailey needed to grow on her own and accept the relationship when she feels more confident in herself. They pressure her at first with marriage and moving in without thinking she needed time. But they did back off and while it hurt, they knew in the end that is what Hailey needed most, to feel in control of her life.

This was sexy, drool worthy book about three lovers, but also a hard look at what happens to a woman in an abusive relationship. This author is now a must read for me!

I reviewed this this last week so I remember thinking about that family being Oh no to It’s okay! I think a lot of the rapid move towards acceptance is format related. Short format erotica has to get all that nitty gritty stuff out of the way to leave room for the sex, and this case the big drama as well. It’s definitely something you would have to get out of the way, because the reader is going to say “What!? They’re okay with that?!” If she had also added in a bigger fight about it then the other drama… Read more »
