Away…at #RAGT15!

Not only did I get to go to Disneyland and Hawaii this year for vacation, I got exactly two days to prepare to go to the Reader and Author Get Together put on my Lori Foster in Cincinnati, OH!  This is my first year attending and what a deal it is. For $50 you get to have fun with authors and publishers while meeting new people. Well, I am kind of an introvert really. So I do a lot of people watching. That’s not to say I won’t ask an author about what they write if they sit at my table, it just means I don’t go trolling for authors.

So I went into a room today and got to take selfies with two authors I have never met and one I had the honor of meeting two years ago.

Meet Wendi Zwaduk/Megan Slayer (yeah, I love the name Megan!) I am totally getting on board to read her books soon!

Then I got to meet Jayne Rylon again! Her books keep my engines running!

Last up in this series was Gretchen Roberts, a new to me author!

The swag is off the hook fun!Eve

Well I am off back to the conference for the book signing. I am not a huge autograph person because I just don’t have much room any more. But there are a few treasures I am hoping to get. See you soon!

You lucky duck. Have you seen Kally Masters as yet?

    • Shari Delighted Read

I met Kally at Authors After Dark in 2013. I have all but the last two books autographed. Just ran out of cash to buy more books to get signed, so I might have to skip her this year 🙁

  • OOOOOOOH My Envious Heart! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful time there. Those are new to me authors too. Look at the Boris moose!!!! and all the goodies.

Thanks for taking the time to share!

I have a few new pictures and some surprises for you. Still supper and more giveaways tonight. Have to decide which 80 of the over 200 raffle ticket baskets I am going to attempt to win. No way can I buy enough to put on in each, so deciding if there is one I really want for 80 , lol. Eve knew exactly who I was talking about when I mentioned your name!

      • You know I won’t say no to a surprise souvenir from RAGT.

I think my head would explode trying to figure out what basket to bid on especially that many.

She is so great. I imagine its tough keeping track of all the bloggers and reviewers. So cool that Eve knew who I am.

What was funny is I went to her signing. She’s from Canada so she refused to sell her books because she didn’t want to deal with the IRS. I feel bad getting a book for nothing, but I can’t say no to Eve!

I ran out of cash quick. I think I have $5 left in my pocket. Tomorrow will be hard unless I can figure out a way to come up with more cash without the ATM charging me $3 service fees each time I visit. I was looking up Walmart locations where I can buy something and get cash without the fee. Yeah, I am sneaky like that. I need cold medicine so that might be what I do tonight.

          • Oh, I never thought of the Canadian selling thing in US. She didn’t have to give them free so she must have wanted you to have it. Enjoy, right?

Oh boy, I’d probably run out of cash so quickly at an event like that. That is quick thinking to find a place that does cashback. 😉

Oh, and I forgot to mention I sat at lunch with an author, Cheryl Brooks. Her name seemed so familiar but I couldn’t place her. We talked and I learned she lives about an hour away from me. Thought it was cool. I looked her up and did a head smack that I didn’t recognize her books! So I rant to B&N and bought one to have her autograph. I haven’t read her books, but I do recognize her name. Now that I know she lives so near, I am going to have to be a supportive Indiana reader for Indiana authors!

      • Yeah, her name sounded familiar to me and then I looked her up and realized I have her sci-fi on my wish list. So cool!

I feel the same way when I encounter Michigan, Utah or California authors. Need to support the home team. 😉

I read her book, Slave, I think before I started blogging. I wonder if the series got better because I don’t remember liking that one. I see the newer books on the NetGalley lists and keep thinking I should go back and check her out again. Now I have a purpose.

          • Sometimes, it’s a mood thing and a second time it’s a whole new ballgame with a book or author. Haha, yes, now you’ll fill up your NG page with new authors to try.

  • Looks like you are having a great time. I love Gretchen’s hair!

    • Shari Delighted Read

There are several around here that have “Gretchen” hair, lol. It is beautiful!

I had a great time and got to meet some of the bloggers who comment here! I am so happy to find their blogs too. Do you blog somewhere where I can also comment back? I try hard to make rounds once a week, so usually I do all my commenting at once, lol. This was fun and I want to do it again next year!

      • I think it would be such a great opportunity to meet other bloggers!! Yes I do have a blog . Addicted
        To Romance
I might think of going next year….but it depends on my schedule, I will be starting a internship so it just depends on that.

      • Renee is my go-to for Historical Romance reviews, but I’ve picked up some good Contemporary and PNR suggestions from her reviews, too. 😉

  • Aw looks like yall had a great time! So wish I could have made it this year.

  • It was so great to meet you and hang out with you the one day for lunch. I hope we can do it again some time.
