ESCAPE

This is actually an easy one for me.  Escape is something I do on a daily basis in one way or another.  I tell my clients at work and my co-workers that everyone needs an escape even if It’s just a little one and every one can have one even if their budget is small.

You all already know what I’m talking about and have your own escapes.  Reading, of course.  Books can take you anywhere you want to go, right?

I shared earlier this year in other challenge posts about a few of my other escapes- gardening, puzzles, movies, and travel.

A few more are occasionally music (listening or playing my piano), writing, cooking… and, you might want to be sitting down… organizing and cleaning.  Yep, after a trying day at work, sometimes I just need to scrub something or sort through something.

What are some of your escapes?  Do tell!

The following two tabs change content below.
I was born and raised near Sacramento, CA. I have read since I was four years old and developed tastes that run the gamut of literature. I went away to college and have a degree in education, a certificate in family history research, and a certificate in social work. I worked for a non-profit agency with low income families for 20 years which included being responsible for the children’s library and promoting/teaching adult literacy. I have lived in Southeast Michigan for the last 18 years and I am currently a book addicted homemaker with a cat and husband who keep me grounded. Recently, I made it a challenge to review each book that I have read as a favor to author friends who said reviews are important. I have done reviews for Good Reads, Amazon, eBay, and Smashwords, but mostly at Goodreads and Amazon.

  • Reading is absolutely my number one way to escape, and random daydreaming comes a close second 🙂

    • I’ve been doing reading as an escape for so long that it startles me now and then when someone remarks on how odd it is that I read so often.
Oh yes, I love to daydream. I think I actually enjoy doing the dishes because it gives me an excuse to stare out the window over the sink and imagine things. 🙂

  • I almost always listen to music when I’m online or reading. It’s one of my escape. When one of my favorite songs come on I watch the music video that goes along with it. That’s always fun and usually puts me in a good mood. Reading is my biggest escape.

    • Yes, the music videos are a fun way to get my favorite songs, too. I definitely love to have music going lots of the time.

  • Reading is my escape as well and cooking. Cooking is a great way to just focus on what I am doing and not worry too much about other things. I also love puzzles and games. I do agree that everyone needs an escape of some sort.

    • Yes, I can see how that is true with cooking. I have to focus on what I’m doing and let other things be set aside.
Oh yes, escape helps us de-stress and re-charge. 🙂

  • Reading is my big escape which shouldn’t come as a surprise. Spending time with my dogs is another great form of escape.

    • Oh yes, time with pets is a good one. My cat was a great stress reducer.

  • Oh yes. That’s my escape, too. And playing in the kitchen with new recipes 🙂

    • I find cooking and experimenting is fun and takes my focus up with better things, too.

  • Love your reading spot! Along with reading and films I like to get into a craft project.
