newsyearschallengeBook Blogger New Year’s Challenge
{Day 10} NEW THINGS YOU WILL BE DOING THIS YEAR.
  • Free Book Reviews – Going to try to get more reviews of the free books we all download and never get too. Maybe I will make a challenge out of it to read one free book you downloaded in you TBR pile a week. That would get 50+ free books out of your TBR Pile.
  • Cutting the Budget – I spend way to much money on books. $40 a month is a lot money, but sometimes it doesn’t go very far. So I want to see if I can stay under $40 this year and even save some of that money!
  • Yakkety Yak Let’s Chat – it’s something we have done in the past, but not in months. I am thinking of revamping it some and making it more fun instead of me just ranting. Maybe we can start a reader question type of deal…still floating ideas in my head.
  • More book/author features that aren’t book tours! Book Tours have really become cumbersome. I still want to do them, but I also want to get straight to the author or book to feature. I have several ideas floating in my head and trying to decide what to do..
  • Comment Challenge – I really want to interact with my readers more, so I am thinking up different challenges that would be fun for readers and other bloggers to help out with.

Have some ideas? Let me know!

Yes, I need to cut down my book buying budget too and actually read what I have (I should write a note in my wallet reminding me of this.) 🙂

I write down every penny I spend now and it scares me when I see how much I spend on books! So this is helping me stay on target but also get a lot of reading done.

Thanks! Hoping to get back to Yakkety Yak. The last part of 2013 overwhelmed me so I am getting back to it!

Omgosh! Free book reviews is an amazing idea! My kindle is overloaded with the free ones. More times than not, those books rock my face off!

I wish you luck on your budget! I’m thinking maybe I should try this too! lol

Yep, I am over 400 books on my Free Kindle books collection. I had to stop getting them or else it was going to explode!

Lots of good ideas. We could do a few chats involving specific recommendations to each other. Like offer a few samples of second chance romances and have folks comment with more examples of their own or good spy heroes, etc.

I completely get the cutting the budget idea. It is so easy to just keep buying books, especially on the internet. My students all know that the best gift for me is a Barnes and Noble GC because of how much I enjoy shopping for books. I also am trying to spend a little less this year by looking for better deals or by borrowing. Enjoy your reading!

Check back tomorrow to see how I did this week! It’s kind of fun when I can actually save some money on my obsession!
