A very good question…and the simple answer is I have no clue.

I had an email newsletter that never grew readers and ended up costing too much.I have grown in Facebook fans, but the reach numbers suck.

I have a lot of Twitter followers, but most seem to be authors, not readers.

I joined Bloglovin’ but still don’t know if anyone is actually using it.

I started using BookLikes more, but I am not sure it draws more in, but sure it will draw more away.

Soooooo…somewhat an answer.

  • Think up new Comment Challenges, but I can’t always do a giveaway for them.
  • Continue to visit other blogs and comment, drum up discussion.
  • Join a few more challenges and memes, but I don’t want to overwhelm the site with memes.
  • More book tours? Not sure they actually work.
  • Giveaways is the only way way I have gotten followers, but even then not always loyal.
  • work on an email solution that is cost effective and works.

So really I don’t have a great solution.

how are getting more followers?

That is a hard question indeed. I get NO followers on bloglovin at all…I started being a little bit more conscious about what hops and giveaways, mainly because of financial reasons and like you said you get followers, but they aren’t always faithful ones. I do some tours, but tampered down on those too because I want to focus more on reading and reviewing this year. I have no idea how I’m going too either…I just hope they stop by, like what they see and want to stick around. But that may be wishful thinking…lols.

I was thinking about an email newsletter also but wasn’t entirely sure if it was for me. I think it is a hard question to think about how to get more followers but I think the most important thing is to blog because you love it.

Yea. The giveaway thing for me, they follow you for the giveaway, but most don’t come back after that. I did get some from WOW & FF, which helps. I”m just gonna try and really comment more on blogs and twitter/networking.

I think you struggle to answer this one because really there is no specific formula to this. Blogs are unique and subjective. People can follow twenty book review blogs and love them all for different things. I know this because I’m one of them. Some I follow and have absolutely nothing in common with their reading preferences, but they generate great discussions. Others have the most annoying features on their blog, but they write a great review. Some are serious and some are just plain fun. Others share my taste and I know that if they recommend I should be… Read more »

I don’t have a clue either! *L*

While I don’t really like it, I use Bloglovin to keep track of the blogs I follow. Not familiar with BookLikes, so will have to check it out one of these days.

I agree with Sophia Rose, there is no magic formula, so even with the giveaways, if the content doesn’t keep them coming back then it doesn’t matter, but I would rather have 25 people who read and interact on the blog than 1000s who never come back. Whatever works I wish you many new followers who interact and share your content
