Week 14 of 2014
Actually cutting the budget…

Well, the good ole settlement from Amazon keeps teasing me to buy books, but I am trying to use it slowly. Still sticking to a budget in my case because I am not reading the books I am buying. That has to change. I did splurge on one book…The King by J.R. Ward. I swore I would not buy the book because one it’s overpriced and two I have been disappointed in the series lately. But with the settlement teasing me and money left in March to buy it…I fell off the bandwagon and got it.

So I ended March under budget and so far April is looking good too. It also helps I had surgery on my foot this week. The pain killers are making me so very sleepy. I can’t concentrate for long periods of time so posts are coming out slower, reading is almost non-existent, but hey, I am getting a lot of sleep!

I began the month with no purchases. I avoided the temptation of The King strictly b/c I’m still working on Lover at Last. I got a couple of the ARe series freebies too. So my budget remains intact with $30

Way to go! I was going to hold out on the King since I haven’t been happy with the series the last 4 books or so. Just too much going on, nothing resolved and characters I wasn’t enjoying. But we are back around to Wrath and Beth who started it all. This will be a test to see if I auto buy the next book. She has to prove to me she can get out of the slump I don’t like. Hoping you can keep your $30!

I got The King too and really liked the story. Good luck with the budget for this month.

Glad you liked it. Haven’t read it yet, but hoping she redeems her writing since I haven’t liked the last few books in the series.

I only brought two books since the beginning of April and I just got a couple from Netgalley so I’m good.
