Week 21 of 2014

Wow, sorry I forgot to post this yesterday! This ends my first of three weeks on the road and finding time to sit down to work on anything is becoming a luxury. Leaving Knoxville, TN today to Florida. One of my kids participated in Destination Imagination Globals this last week. While I had tons of time to read, I only actually got one book read.

But this also helped me to stay on budget this week. My sweet husband got me this new laptop, but felt guilty I wasn’t getting anything on my actual birthday. So he loaded up my Kindle with some books. That is the bulk of  my spending (or not) of the week. Only $4.33 left for one week. Let’s hope Disney keeps me busy so I don’t go out and spend more money!

How was your week?

How are you cutting your budget but still getting to read everything you want?

The following two tabs change content below.
Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!
  • That’s a great pile of books and what a special guy to know just the right thing to make your birthday even better. Glad things are still going well on the road. Enjoy Disney!

I won a gift card so I got books too and didn’t touch the budget that is still intact at $25 (amazing, I know). I picked up four novel-length, four novellas and one box set ($.99 sale). The novellas are all part of favorite series and I had just been putting them off since I didn’t want to pay $2-3 bucks for less than a hundred pages, but a guilt-free gift card finally got me all these extra stories. 😉 My novels were also books that have sat on the wish list mostly from lack of time, but now I have the latest Angels After Dark from Gena Showalter and Guardians of Eternity from Alexandra Ivy books. Woohoo!
