Week 32 of 2014

Ok, I preordered Kresley Cole books…I don’t get asked to review an ARC from her 🙁 I would love to do that, so until then I am pre-ordering anything in the Immortals After Dark series. The price was steeped and if I had gone over budget I guess I would have said no, but I have been doing so good. A treat for myself.

Have you heard about AmazonUnlimited? Well, I am trying it out. I got the first month free and it seems to be like a library. You check out up to 10 books at a time to read for around $10 a month. Once you are done, check them in and then check out a new one. Unlimited on how many you can read in a month. Right now I am digging the free month, but I am not totally sure I want to keep a subscription. There aren’t a lot of new books and I have read a ton of them already on the list. So this is my trial month to see if I will actually use the service.

How was your week?

  • I’ve been slacking with the posts but I did manage to save money 🙂 In July I spent less the $12 bucks so I’m happy. August is a different story though, lols. I hink I went a little over board this week.

    • Shari Delighted Read

August is going to get me, lol.

Did you move blogs? I just tried to go to Salacious Reads and it’s gone 🙁 If so, then I need to update my blog visiting list since I am getting back on board going around to visit!

  • Oh I’m with you on IAD books! I haven’t purchased this one yet, but its just a matter of time. I’m doing pretty good this month. I started with $25 and I’ve spent $5 so far.

This Amazon thing sounds good and I do read plenty of books in a month, but most are books I’ve chosen for review or agreed to review so I’m not sure I’d have time to make something like this worth it for me. Still…seeing all those awesome books on your list does look tantalizing.

I think I will try out this trial month then cancel. I just can’t read enough from it to justify the $10 cost. I have a few NetGalley books to catch up on, but at least they are books for September and October.

      • That sounds like a good plan. And you are totally ahead of me with Net Galley. I’m still working on ones from this month. I try so hard not to request more, but then I weakly cave in and do it. 😉

        • Shari Delighted Read

LOL, well, I don’t have many for September. For some reason, none sounded good to me. At least this gives me a break to catch up!

  • Jennifer @ The Book Nympho

I still haven’t spent any money on books. I’m going great. I thought about checking out the 30 day Free trail of Kindle Unlimited but I’ve got to get my Netgalley books done first then I’ll give it a try.

Oh and Cole doesn’t count. You MUST always find a way to get her on your shelf/ereader. Or in my case on audio book. 😉

    • Shari Delighted Read

I totally get the NetGalley pile. I caught up last week on them then requested five more. Never seems to stay caught up.

Cole is my favorite author right now. I will always pre-order her, but I would love to be asked to read it before it comes out. Maybe the next one, lol. I remember when I discovered IAD and spent a week reading the seven books that were out at that time. Now the wait between them seems like agony!

      • Jennifer @ The Book Nympho

I’m finally caught up and now the wait is going to suck!

        • Shari Delighted Read

Wow! Caught up? I don’t think this happens to be very often.

          • Jennifer @ The Book Nympho

Caught up on this series. LOL I’m slowly catching up on series I’ve already started before starting new ones.
