Jon from Inside Bet is a sexy beast. But his car? Get your smelling salts ready, ladies.
Meet the Aston Martin DBS. Except Jon’s is black. Of course it is, because black is the color most preferred by Darth Vader and rich, arrogant, fabulously sexy playboys. (There is a Darth Vader reference in the book, so now you have an Easter egg to hunt for.)
Really, the DBS is described by Aston Marin as “muscular elegance,” which fits Capt. Jon Carlisle, an Air Force fighter pilot, to a tee. He’s the sort of man who can speak French, forcefully restrain a willing partner and satisfy her completely, sing a mean karaoke, fold perfect hospital corners on bed sheets, and wear a three-piece suit as easily as breathing. It’s like we put every desirable male quality into a bag, shook it up and voila! The kinky stud at the heart of Inside Bet.
We needed to give this multi-millionaire adrenaline junkie a really frickin’ fantastic car. So we started at the top and never looked back. The top was, of course, James Bond. Casino Royale and the unforgiveable cringe-worthy Quantum of Solace both featured Aston Martin DBS coupes, although the precious vehicles were maliciously destroyed by villains (who probably knew Darth Vader).
Here’s a clip of Bond’s pristine swoon-worthy beast.
Heather saw a semi’s distant lights draw nearer as the amazing DBS ran it down. Predator and prey. Jon had popped it into fifth, his grip tense on the gearshift. The tendons running up the back of his hand and wrist snapped taut.
Closer now, and closer still, he hadn’t changed lanes to overtake the lumbering truck. Heather gripped the armrest on the passenger side door. Night air scored her cheeks as the Aston punched up past ninety. Her heartbeat tripled. At the last possible moment, Jon smoothly dove into the outside lane. They darted past the semi as the driver blasted his horn.
“Are you insane?” she yelled over the whip of wind.
Jon merely glanced her way, that depraved smile twisting his lips. With nothing stretched ahead but flat blacktop, he shifted up to sixth. Hundreds of horsepower growled under the hood. The vibration sank into her skin, like the steady bite of a hot, hot shower. Sensation built, gathering, almost numbing, but constantly raising the stakes. Release, when it came, would be overwhelming.
Heather reached across the chasm that had opened between them. She wanted to touch him. Needed to. She started with his hand on the gearshift, unwilling to distract him too much. Their speed was up to one hundred now. Threading her fingers over his, she felt the humming vibration where man met machine. He controlled that power. The thrill shot a bolt of heat between her thighs.
That’s much better than being chased by villains! Personally I’d have chosen this fabulous flame orange version, but Jon would’ve said I have no taste. The DBS itself is just flashy enough.
