It’s hard to believe it is Valentine’s Day already. It just seems like we got done celebrating Christmas. And so starts my every two-week run of events. You see Valentine’s Day is the first of many reasons to celebrate that come every two weeks.
About two weeks from today I am celebrating my 16th wedding anniversary to my Prince Charming. He is my rock and love of my life. We met almost 22 years ago when I was dating his cousin. He was 15 just getting read to turn 16. Getting those car keys soon, he seemed so young to my 18. Speed up three years later and we are working together and the cousin is history. My husband and I didn’t get along at all. Surprise that now 22 years later, we have been married 16 years and have 3 wonderful kids.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! Two weeks after our anniversary is my husband’s birthday. He may or may not be home this year for it since he has to travel for work. Regardless, I always can’t wait to celebrate him getting older since I have three years on him. For two short months that 3 years is dwindled down to 2 years.
Right after my husband’s birthday is usually Spring Break from school, which this year I have a surprise for my kids. My husband goes to Australia every spring break for a conference. I usually just putter around the house with the kids, but this year …shhhh it’s a secret…I am taking the kids to Disney World for 5 days on our first DVC trip!
After spring break, exactly two weeks after my husband’s birthday is my darling daughter’s birthday. We get back the day before her birthday from Disney World.
So Valentine’s Day means a lot of love, but also the kick off rolling holidays, birthdays, trips and shenanigans!
So today my kids received a two hour delay from the start of school due to snow! Yay! Then they got some candy from Mom and Dad. My oldest got a book, Cinder, and the Breaking Dawn movie. My middle child got PJs with Tee Cup Pig outfits. And my son got Mickey Mouse Clubhouse shows along with toys to match.
Best of all…I got the Pajama Gram Hoodie/Footie PJs that I plan to wear all day tomorrow. I got him 3D glasses for his computer along with the Walking Dead comic books. We just all love each other so much 😉
Because I am such a great mom, I also baked heart shaped cookies this afternoon. Other than that…it is just a normal day in our household.
May all of my readers have a wonderful Valentine’s Day. You don’t have to have a lover to be loved and celebrate Valentine’s, it just makes if funnier.
Happy Valentine’s Day
