Wow! Gargoyles! I really enjoyed the start of a new to me series about Guardians who rest until they are needed to battle evil. He thinks he is emotionless, but when he meets his mate, the emotions overtake him and I am totally wiped out with the amount of orgasms he provides his female!
Now Amazon sometimes recommends books to me that I can’t look away from. Like this series, it recommended a book (not this one) from it and I was intrigued. Enough intiguness (is that even a word), that I decided to get the first book, Heart of Stone. The action started hot and fast as Ella is just trying to get home from work after a gala party where she felt so out of place. Leaving by the gardens, she is waylaid by a not so nice benefactor of the museum, thus awakening the gargoyle statue she often talks to and admires, Kees. Ella has tried to hide her powers after an unfortunate accident in her youth, but now she has been recognized.
Kees has been awakened from his slumber, so a threat should be near, where is the person in charge? And why is a tiny human with magical powers awakening him from his slumber, especially one who knows nothing of their world? Now it’s a race against dark as they try to find out what has awakened him and why no magical being can be found. One tiny human who is not trained to use her magic and a big gargoyle who keeps evil at bay with his brothers…who will win?
This was a sexy, fun and terrifying romp. On one side you have Kees who oozes sexuality, but believes he has no emotions. On the other side you have Ella who thinks her magic kills and tries so hard to keep it contained. Throw in some really bad dudes who have taken down the good side organization and you have one Hell of a sexy ride.
There aren’t a ton of sex scenes, but the ones you get are over the top, pussy exhausting I guess. She said it, not me! He wrings every bit of pleasure from this woman before he takes his own. Gargoyle, well he is very well endowed *wink*
Kees is strong and logical. He is a protector and full of honor. Ella is what I want in my heroines. Someone who will protect her own, but also has a steel core to stand up to even the scariest of evil. These two were perfect for each other.
The baddies…evil guys…oh, I want a chance at ’em. They were those horrible guys you want to beat up and not give a crap if you go to jail over. Yeah, I want a piece of them when this is all done.
A quick read that will have you wanting to grab up the next book and stay up all night reading. I highly recommend this one ladies and gentlemen!
