I Dare You: Shifted Sister

If you could shift into any animal, what would you be and why?

Have you ever wondered if there really are shifters in the world? I mean look at Toy Story? Those toys come to life when the humans are away so why not shifters? Ok, that’s not the best argument, but it makes me wonder what type of animal I would like to be if in fact I was a shifter *wink*

Let’s start with my favorite animals: dogs. Yep, I love my dogs, Mason and Pluto. My first ever pet was Winky, then Alexander, Bobo, Apollo, Whimpsy and Cookie. I grew up with Doberman Pinchers in my life and they get a bad wrap, but once I moved away from home I became an adopter not buyer. From Whimpsy on we have adopt these beloved animals from shelters. To the left is Mason our Newfounland mutt mixture who is turning 11 next month. We often think he shifts into a human when we are gone to sleep in our bed, but as his joints have gotten stiff with age, we also think he just lays around enjoying the fact that he is fooling us.

To the right we have Pluto who joined our family just about a year ago as my son’s birthday present. Pluto really does have the best life, but he also thinks he is human….or maybe he is human? He loves clothes. A total diva when we break out something new for him to wear. He also loves to run, but often tries to lead my husband to where he thinks the best running paths take place. Is he a shifter? Well, when food goes a missing, there is a smell that comes from this dog that gives him away. Yep, I think he is a shifter raiding our pantry!

I know we have a lot of cat fans and I am sorry to say I am not one of them. About 15 years ago a cat moved into our garage and wouldn’t leave. So we took her in and what do you know she was pregnant. When she gave birth she was hiding…maybe shifting? Well, sometime after that I was petting her on my lap when I had a very bad allergic reaction to her. So now we co-exist without touching each other. That kind of dims all the fun of having an animal companion. She often would leave the house and I think she was out there shifting a hooking up. Good thing we had her fixed.

So those are the animals of my life (besides my kids). There are a few more animals I would love to shift into…like a dolphin, swimming through the sea, or a deer, but the whole hunting thing would be a bummer. Maybe an eagle so I could fly?

What are your pets you secretly think are shifting?
Or even an animal  you might was your inner beast?

I have two animals.
1) If I was to be a pet, I would be a cat. They have kitty litter in the house, so no outside potting for me. They have free roam of the house. And I get to knock things off counters. Who would pick anything else?

2) A wild animal…probably a blue jay. They are my favorite and they are free to fly anywhere.

I can see why your pets make you wonder. I swear our old cat used to think circles around me and my aunt had a horse that had the most expressive eyes and reactions to things even nodded when you talked to him.

I’ve had rats, mice, gerbils, hamsters and fish. Now I have a dog but I think I’d want to shift into some kind of bird and be able to fly.

I would pick any majestic bird. Flying anywhere you want. That’s the life. Just wouldn’t want to be a duck or goose during hunting season.
