Yakkety Yak – Let’s Chat: Introducing Our New Review Features!

Posted November 1, 2015 by Shari in Yakkety Yak Let's Chat / 17 Comments

Over the last month we have been thinking up ways to make our reviews more …. well, concise as to some off shoots. Like Young Adult and Sweet Romances were lumped into one category called Yours Affectionately. We often got comments not understanding this so we thought we should clarify it some more.

So we split Young Adult reviews into a new category called Young Delight! For those who want to read books that involve young adults with no sex, this is our new category that helps us express our delight in being young again! These only post on Sunday’s.

Sweet romances are now call Sweet Delight. What does Sweet Delight entail…well, there is little to no sex. Nothing racy and they only post on Sunday’s. Clean romances if you will (which Sophia Rose reads as I like spice in mine). There could still be romantic suspense, paranormal and even a thriller, but the romance is kept sweet or non-existent.

Afternoon Delight is staying the same but with a new look. This is our short story/novella category that is about 150 pages or less. A great way to spend your afternoon unless you have someone else to be delightful with *wink*.

We hope you like these upcoming changes! Always are we looking for ways to create more “Delight” in your lives!

The following two tabs change content below.
Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!

  • interesting, there’s sex in YA? i must have not read enough XD though now that i think about it… i do see it happening more and more, so i guess yup

I have heard some YA does have sex. The Twilight Series I know had a modest scene in the last book, but I wouldn’t recommend it for teens to read. If it does have sex, then it won’t go into our Young Delight as I don’t want to recommend that read to teens. I don’t personally read YA so I don’t have anything to add. I am raising 2 teen girls who I trust, but their education shouldn’t come from a romance book, thus why we won’t review YA books with sex.

  • Ah I always thought Yours Affectionately was only YA. Sounds like a good idea to seperate those in different review features! I like the banners for the seperate review features.
I read some YA and clean romances and also romances with some more spice. It just depends on my mood. So I enjoy reading all your different reviews :).

Oh I see in your sidebar a fun feature planned for the holidays as well, can’t wait to hear more about that. And I am also joining Anna her recipe exchange, it sounds like so much fun!

    • Yes, it will indeed be nice to distinguish between YA and Sweet Romance, now. Between the two of us, we do well with hitting a variety of romance genres and heat levels. Appreciate your visits and comments, Lola!

Yep, we’re going to do something a little special with our holiday reviews to make for some fun.
I did Anna’s recipe exchange for the first time last year and really enjoyed it.
