Planning…my addictions #YakketyYak

img_0083I am a planner. I have notebooks everywhere in the house, in all my bags and purses, in the car, beside my bed, etc. You get he point. But I also love office supplies. Pens, pencils, paperclips, planners, stickers, Post-It note and those aforementioned notebooks.

Well, last weekend I set up a new desk. You see, my son likes to take over my desks. I had an end table in the living room, which he decided made a great place to play with his toys. Then I took over the desk on the other side of the living room that my girls were supposedly using. Hubs buys a gaming computer and there goes my desk.

So my Mom is downsizing for her potential move and I took an old sewing desk that has been in the family forever. I had nowhere to put it but our bedroom. It’s been here a year and I put craft stuff in the cabinet when I got an aha moment last weekend and cleaned it up to become a desk.

So I break out the pens, stickers, planner notebooks and set up shop! To reward myself, I order a bunch of planner stickers. I got the dancers because my daughters do so many dancing things that I wanted to spice up their actions. I got the dancer planner stickers from aHappyBlueTree. I also ordered a few more sets, but you have to wait until next weekend to see what they are.

A few months back I ordered some cute gel pens from Amazon – Totally Taffy Scented Gel Pens. I love scribbling with these colors to add some fun to my planner along with the wonderful scents I get off them. Well, the scents are subtle, but they are fun anyway.

I am finishing off 2016 with my 2016 Do It All Mom Planner. It has a spot for each of my family members and one for the blog for me to put down everything I need to know. I am not totally sure if I will get the 2017 planner or go with a different one. This one seems to work for me, but I see a lot of other people using cool ones too. Guess it depends on what you are planning.

While I have tons of other office supplies, this gives you a hint of what I am playing with as I get this blog all set for 2017!

Do you have an office supply addiction like me? Mine has been mild, but I find it coming on now that I have my own space to use them all!

I’m a planner too! I love downloading and cutting my own stickers or finding printables on Pinterest.

Love planners! I have a Cricut that cuts all kinds of stuff. Just found a pack of sticker paper for it. Now I just need to figure out how to do them all on my own, but in the mean time, I am buying a few to get me going.

I just bought my Cricut. It took me a slew of YouTube videos and a few messed up sticker sheets but I got it 🙂

Woohoo! I made t-shirts for our Disney vacation last May. People asked us where I got them. Next month my oldest turns 16 so I am planning on matching t-shirts to were that day. I just wish I had more time. Of course all Christmas gifts are going to be Cricut made this year.

That’s awesome! I’ve thought about making t-shirts but all I have is stickers on the brain lol

  • I would like to be a planner but I confess that even if I try I end up messing things… always! lol

I am sometimes obsessive with planning. My DD dance instructor revs up my OCD on planning with emails about events less than 24 hours in advance. She thinks telling the kids vague things is enough. I have another calendar on the wall with a column for each family member so I can put their schedules down. I also have a calendar wipe board that we use for non-regular appointments like doctor’s appointments, air conditioning installation and more. We just started doing all of this in 2016 and my family has grown to love knowing what is going on. While we all (except my son) have iPhone’s, my husband’s is a work one. So sharing calendars doesn’t work the best. Hence the written ones.

  • Yay for finally getting your own desk space and how cute that it’s a sewing table. I love the idea of cute calendars, stickers, and pens. My weakness is cute journals and bookmarks and clips. I love the dancer stickers you picked. Looking forward to seeing the other pack.

It is a really old sewing machine. I have been thinking of taking it somewhere to see if we can fix it so I can teach myself how to sew. With dance I have tons of spools of thread, which the door has places for them all. It is pretty awesome as a sewing desk, but so so on the other stuff.

I love the stickers and can’t wait to get the others I have ordered. I might have a new addiction. Now to select a planner for 2017 so I can start planning the blog for next year.

Oh, I know what to get you for Christmas now!

  • I don’t do planners or a lot of notebooks. I have one notebook that has all of my computer passwords in it. I like pens and post it notes and have an organizer on my computer table.

I love all those things too. I have a calendar on the wall with a column for everyone plus a white erase calendar board the kids love for non-normal routine items.

Sort of…(lol) For some reasons, I end up getting lots and lots of calendars, day planners and colorful small notebooks. They are in the office, in my purse, in the car and in the kitchen, which can be a problem, as I’m sure you can imagine.(lol) Let’s say I need to be waaaay more organized!

  • I’m a total planner so always have notebooks and a set planner for the blog. I’m very picky about my pens so I only have 2 types but I buy them in bulk. lol

  • oh I am so big on office supplies….I never go to the office stores because I buy TOO much hehe I do love planning things out though.

  • I love peeking at everyone else’s method of organization but I don’t really do a lot myself. I have a google calendar set up for the blog and one for the rest of my life and that’s it. Great post!

  • I always like seeing other people their planners and supplies. I personally use an online calendar as my planner, blog tour work, reviews, deadlines and personal stuff all goes on there and I color code anything. I wouldn’t know what to do without a calendar. I find it handy to have one online, but a paper planner also looks nice as you can decorate that and take it everywhere with you.
I am glad you found your own place for crafting and planning. It must be nice to have your own desk for things like that now. Those dancer stickers look cute. And those scented gel pens sound neat! I don’t think I’ve seen scented pens here, but I do remember note books with scented paper that I had when I was younger.
