The Delight

A short, erotic read as a Christmas gift to the author’s newsletter subscribers! I got the email on Christmas day, but was too busy to get out there to get it right away. When I did download it, I gobbled is up as the first book of the year. Quick and easy, hot and passionate, but lacked the time to develop the characters better.

Review

Noelle is not in her dream job, but she is day dreaming about her handsome boss. We open up to her being interrupted by the same boss in a meeting where she was having an erotic dream of him. He takes her to task for it, but this opens up the door she didn’t know was cracked. Under pressure from her friends to have a fling with him, she comes out of her shell while they are working late one evening and gets the best of sexy Liam.

Liam is having the same problems. He is attracted to his assistant, but tries hard to keep it professional. Going through a divorce and sharing custody of three kids while making enough money to pay for that divorce is what he needs to focus on. Even his best friend thinks he needs to get laid. So when Noelle flirts, he tries his best, but can’t resist!

What I loved about this was the Liam didn’t try to hide this as a dirty little secret. He takes her out on a date, they have lots of passionate, erotic sex, but they both know this is more than just a fling. She meets the kids and ex briefly and loves how he treats his kids like they are his entire world. He’s a determined man and when he makes up his mind, he goes after things with everything in him.

This is a short story that was fabulous to read really quick, but lacked the development of a full story. There is just a smidgen of conflict over being boss and employee, but they work it nicely out in the end. Nothing really stumps them hard or gets in their way. It was just a delight for an afternoon read.

Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!

Its refreshing that the conflict isn’t over some angsty moment with the ex. I love that he is open about their date, too.

Aww I do like a quick, no real conflict read. It is refreshing to see happiness.

Sounds like a great delight to read, if a bit rushed which you see in shorter stories but glad it was a good one.

I heard a lot about this author but haven’t tried any of her books. I should!

Shorter stories tend to have that happen but it sounds like it was still good.
