This story grabbed from the beginning and wouldn’t let me go. There are secrets galore that take their sweet time uncovering themselves, but while we wait we get a compelling story of betrayal, clawing from poverty to stardom and lots of sexy times between the sheets! I couldn’t put it down!
Dirty like me starts off with a bang as Katie Bloom comes out of the rain at her best friends business and meets a rock start she doesn’t know, but seems to be flashing him with a wet t-shirt. Needless to say she gets the part in his upcoming music video which she wasn’t even auditioning, nor wanted. As a struggling barista and artist, she needs the money, but emotionally really isn’t ready for what is to come.
Jesse Mayes notices Katie at the office, but he really doesn’t remember her until she shows up as his love interest for the music video he is recording for his solo album. She isn’t virginal, but she is a little uptight so Jesse goes out of his way to tease her, tempt her and seduce her all while not having sex with her in front of the set.
When the video hits and goes viral, Jesse realizes Katie is what he needs on tour with him…as his girlfriend. Tempting her to be his fake girlfriend should be easy, but Katie isn’t easily bought even if her best friend negotiates an incredible deal for her to pretend. Jesse won’t take no and the two jet off on tour making news about their newly found love affair.
The conflict arrives in the fact that Katie feels bought. So like any woman, you don’t want to have sex and be thought of as a whore when you take the money at the end of the deal. Jesse just doesn’t think like that and wants what she isn’t willing at first to give. As they give in to the demands of their attraction, things start to develop deeper until neither knows if it is a fake, sexy hook up or the real deal.
Things start to get heavy both in public and in private, but when tabloids start publishing images of Katie out of context, it becomes too much for Katie to handle. Katie was burned once at the alter and not knowing where she stands with Jesse, just pushes her to realize she can’t be the fake woman who caught Jesse Mayes.
The story takes you through most of the tour, a meeting with Jesse’s ex who is also in his band Dirty, along with all the other members of the band from Zane and Dylan to Brody the manager, Jude head of security and hints of an old band member, Seth. You get the entire story of what happened to Katie in her one walk down the aisle that devastated her along with how Jesse broke his band member, Elle’s, heart even though they weren’t good together.
There is enough sex in this story to fill a lifetime. From naughty teasing in public forums, to ever which way in hotel rooms or even on a bus with other members of the band. It keeps you hoping and on edge just to see what Jesse will do to Katie and if she will let him do it.
Overall, it’s a rock star life in this story, but it has depth and meaning as you learn the soul deep pain each has endured along with how they grow to love each other. It was an awesome ride on tour and in bed!
