You’re in the mood for a sexy, tension filled contemporary romance and just don’t know what to pick? I’d grab this book. You like easy going, heroic men that are confident in who they are? I’d grab this book. You enjoy reading about women who put everyone ahead of themselves and have to struggle to let loose? They seem like mice, but are really tigers and just need the right man to release all that pent up passion. I’d grab this book. Why? Because it has all that.
Ryan is a woman’s man and local paramedic and football player. Amanda is a PT Doctor and teacher in the local hospital and mother hen to her sisters. So it comes as a surprise when one night in the local watering hole Amanda uses Ryan and a fake one-night stand to get away from the attentions of another. But Ryan doesn’t mind. He has had his eye on the serious sister for awhile and now he has an excuse to find out what is underneath that buttoned up exterior. If he is accused of sleeping with Amanda he figures he should at least get one night.
Is there anything sexier than a man who is confident in himself without being cruel? I don’t think so. And Ryan is the perfect specimen of hero paramedic, sexy woman-loving, zen-meditation, freedom-seeking lover. I liked him immediately. He was young, and fun without malice or cruelty. He is friends with everyone, and without realizing it was searching for someone that would push him back, demand more, be a friend, be a lover, be a partner. I liked that he grew up as well. By the end of the story he had grown, learned, expanded his viewpoints, and really was able be that partner and lover every girl dreams of.
It’s a good thing too, because Amanda is worth the effort. She feels the weight of her family on her shoulders and hides her desires and passions behind responsibility and familial obligation. She looks at herself and grieves the mistakes of the past, but also the fact that she has chosen a path that might keep her from being happy. I loved her desire to protect her family even if she drove me nuts with her mother henning. I think what impressed me the most about Amanda was that she didn’t put blame where it didn’t belong, and she stood up and fought for her and Ryan’s happiness, when everything else was falling apart.
She’s the One, is a great read. I enjoyed it from the first page to the last. I liked the easy going along with the serious and dire, in the story. I am looking forward to the other books in this series. I was intrigued by Amanda’s sisters, and hope to see how their love lives develop. I liked the friendship group that was introduced. I see a lot of potential for more fun sexual tension and happy angst to keep me reading.

Sometimes you see love clearly. And sometimes it has to smack you in the face.
When a stranger walks up and punches him, Ryan Kaye assumes there’s a good reason. But he’s stunned to learn it’s over a one-night stand that never happened —with his friend’s sister, straight-laced Amanda Dixon. When Ryan confronts her about the lie, Amanda apologizes, but Ryan realizes he doesn’t want her to be sorry…he wants the night they supposedly spent together.
Amanda’s not looking to add anyone to her long list of commitments, so she was only trying to let a nice guy down easy by telling him a fling with Ryan broke her heart. So what if the fling only happened in her dreams? But when Ryan Kaye tempts her with the chance to go crazy and fulfill a few fantasies, she can’t resist. Thank goodness one night isn’t enough time to fall in love…
Warning: Contains a hot paramedic who knows how to get a girl to let her hair down, a girl who thinks she prefers her hair up, some naughty laser tag, some naughty role-playing and a lot of falling in love.
“What are you suggesting, exactly?” she asked.
Ryan grinned and she knew she was in trouble. She’d basically just admitted that she was interested. A firm “hell no”, maybe punctuated by a good scowl, would have possibly talked him out of it. But she hadn’t done any of that.
“You, me, some whipped cream and twenty-four uninterrupted hours.”
Yep. That sounded just about perfect.
In a blink, Ryan’s grin dropped and was replaced by a hot, hungry look. “I’ll give you twenty-four days if you want them.”
She was very afraid that she did. She swallowed hard. “That’s a lot of whipped cream.”
“Yeah. We’ll probably have to use some chocolate syrup and some marshmallow cream too.”
Amanda fought the smile…and the “yes, now, let’s go” that threatened. “Marshmallow cream?”
“Ever tried it?”
“For sex? No.”
“You’ll never want it on ice cream again.”
“Well, that will save me a ton of calories.”
“And, trust me, you’ll be burning up a bunch too.”
“Then how can I say no?”
Nothing bad would happen. It was Ryan. He was dangerous in a sexy, he-can-make-me-do-anything-he-wants way, and there was, of course, that risk of him ruining her for all other men. And she wouldn’t have to worry about embarrassing herself or anyone else. Ryan would be discreet. In fact, her brother was the last person who’d ever find out about anything between her and Ryan. Ryan wouldn’t risk telling Conner he’d hooked up with another of Conner’s sisters. No way.
Ryan took a deep breath and shook his head. “I can’t believe I just made a date for sex with Amanda Dixon.”
“Did we set a date?”
“How’s right now?”
