Limos just wants to be a normal girl. Well as normal as a girl can be when she is one of the Four Horsemen, well, Horsewoman here. But being engaged to Satan isn’t every girls dreams, nor is it Limos’s. Wearing a deadly chastity belt, Limos has never let herself give into temptation until one kiss does her in.
Arik Wagner has devoted his life to the military after growing up in an abusive household. Bored to death at a demon party, Arik impulsively kisses Limos, leading to one Hell of a situation, literally. Demons reach up from the ground dragging him to Hell, where he spends a month being tortured for just one thing: for him to say Limos’s name so she can be returned to Satan. Never once does he give in, going through day after day of torture.
While Arik is being tortured, Limos does everything she can to find him, both worried he will do the ultimate thing to condemn her life, but also because she has never felt this way about any man, let alone share a kiss with one. With a chastitiy belt that cuts off anything that comes too close, she has remained a virgin for over 5000 years. But Arik, won’t condemn her to a life with Satan. When Limos rescues Arik, he can’t believe he is out of Hell, not remembering his own escape attempt. He believes that the demons are just tricking him with Limos and incredible orgasms that require no touching near the chastity belt.
Once Arik realizes he really is out, he must overcome his instant dislike of Limos lying, which she has built into a fine art for over 5000 years. But he also must face the lies of omission he has given his sister over the years. Can they overcome years of lying, deception and a deadly chastity belt?
This is one incredibly hot book! Seriously, to be steamed up for most of a book, where there is little to no sex until the end is fabulous! The two feel instant attraction, but with Arik’s absolute hang up with deception, it causes a lot of tense moments. Limos has kept secrets from her brothers as well, that blow up causing even more tension in the story.
Pestilence is causing all kinds of havoc…grand schemes, countries being taken over by death, disease, famine…he just won’t stay down when the other horsemen put him down. There are two very strong side stories going on through all of this. Pestilence continues to pursue breaking Thanatos seal, with key points coming out in this book. While Thanatos gets his own book next, you will want to read this one to know what happens. I just can’t give away anything here! Read it. Then there was Harvester and Reaver. Harvester turns pretty brutal in this book towards Reaver. We don’t totally understand why she does what she does, but you know it will play a huge roll somewhere in this series. Just because they are angels doesn’t mean they don’t have working sexual parts…
There is what I would call one rape in this book. No means no, but then you wouldn’t have had such controversy in this book. There are a few what I would call questionable moments. While not rape per say, they still were a little more than what I was comfortable with. But that is also a sign of a good author, one who won’t shy away from the hard subjects. I can’t wait to see how she deals with these issues in future books.
Overall, it is a hard, rough Larissa Ione ride through Immortals, Demons, Angels and little ole humans! Check it out!
