Review
Darcy MacCormac escapes a evil organization called the Scythe after a decade of imprisonment. Her family and friends have died or are dying and she needs to rescue the ones still left. Injured and trapped in a park, shifters come to rescue her. This was her first shift and now she doesn’t know how to shift back. Owen takes her back to his territory, where she is forced to shift back to human form. Assigned two mentors, Darcy charms them with her tinkering ways.
Grumpy Cahir Owen and Blademage Gawain are brothers seperated for decades, now together again. The litters mother is a piece of work. She loved one son beyond measure, tolerated her daughter Bonnie and Gawain, but abused and hated Owen beyond reason. When the favorite is murdered, their lives become even more broken. The mother blames Owen for it, Gawain blames himself, and Bonnie was already being mentored by their aunt. To keep his sister protected, Gawain stayed and took care of their mother in return she left Bonnie and Owen alone. Now their sister has her own mates, Gawain is done and moves to be near his brother and repair their bond.
Owen doesn’t like women. Bonnie is a fine sister, and he respected the mated women, but those that are single are only good for the Gathering, not as a mate and not as a companion. Little by little as he gets to know Darcy, Owen imprissoned heart starts to melt. Darcy is all that is innocent and good, but she is also impatient wanting to free her brothers and friends.
Most shifters can’t stand metal, but Gawain was chosen by the God to be a Blademage, making special blades and lifemate bands. The Mothers love flows through him when he creates the metal pieces for his community.
The two brothers find a home, and make it their own. Gawain is ready to find a lifemate, it just takes Owen some more time. Throw ins the chances none of them will survive the hunt for their people, this turns into a story of what different kinds of love will do to us, how they form us and what love can do to heal us.
Throw in Vicki from book one (Alec and Callum’s mate) is pregnant and about to pop. That is a whole nether side that gripped you by the proverbial balls and wouldn’t let go. Overall, the personalities of these characters are what keep me coming back for more. Yes, I want more. I need the healers story and Darcy’s brother’s story and more!

I need to read more of her books. I’ve only read a few and she has so many for me to catch up on.
I have started re-reading her books. It’s been years on some of them so they are kind of new to me. This is the last one she wrote in the series, but she released a book this week and I noticed she is writing anothr book in this series next.
You have me curious about this series!
I read everything she writes. This one is not BDSM like most of what she writes, but it is multiple partners in every story. I love her writing.
I could use a book like this soon. 🙂
This series is a different look to the author’s writing and I enjoyed taking the ride with her.
