Badass rockstar hiding out in his isolated cabin in his hometown before his career blows up…biggest cliché ever.

Hot as hell chick who wrecks her car in my ditch? Ditto.

It’s New Year’s Eve, and we’re trapped together in a snowstorm. Hot chick is the small town sweetheart, but she’s honest and fun in a way I never expected.

She doesn’t know I’m a rockstar. So I lie to her. Because she’s seeing me for me, not the money or fame.

We end up naked. The night is incredible, the best of my life. Until I break her heart.

I’m not good enough for her. Not even close. But she makes me yearn…for everything.

Now this badass rockstar is going to be a daddy. And I need to convince the good girl to be mine.

For keeps.

The Delight

Moody rockstar meets town goody two shoes. Chemistry abounds as these two come together and get more than they bargained for in the process. Opposites attract and this story proves the theory.

Review

We meet Kellan as he wholes up for the Holiday Season in a small, isolate cabin he is renovating. He just wants peace and quiet before he returns to his rockstar life. HIs band, Wilder Mind, is about to hit it big and he just wants to soak in the peace knowing it will be some time before he gets another break. So when Maggie runs her car off the road into a ditch of snow, he doesn’t want to do the right thing.

Maggie is the youngest of the Kelly girls and also known as the good girl of the group. Delivering freshly baked bread to an elderly woman is just the kind of thing she would do in a snow storm.  Swerving to miss a deer, she ends up in the ditch of snow with no one but Kelllan around to witness her humiliation. Very little cell service and a towing company not answering, Maggie is stuck with a grumpy man in a tiny cabin.

Don’t want what’s between my pearly gates? Well, fuck you then! I’ll show you by dying in a snowbank before morning.

The two grump around each other a lot, but oddly find the other attractive and unwilling to admit it. Kellan is into hard rock, while Maggie loves the boy bands. Kellan wasn’t always the greatest stand up guy, while Maggie has been the good girl to everyone in town. Kellan dated Maggie’s sister once upon a time. Two extremely unlikely people and one tiny cabin make for a warm and lusty romping ground for these two lovers.

When Maggie’s father shows up the next morning along with Kellan’s sister, who runs the towing service, the two are pulled apart, but not before they have each other’s numbers. The story moves on from here as the two are drawn to each other. Oh, and Kellan didn’t actually lie about his career, he was an record label account representative before he formed his own band….she just doesn’t know he is in a band.

One-night stand girl, reporting for booty.

These two have a lot to overcome, mistakes to make up for and time to do it all. The heat between the sheets is the same over the top fun time these authors have come to give me with each book. These two work hard to stay apart, but also harder to stay together. While Maggie has sisters, she also has over protective brothers as well. Her best friend brings some hilarity to the story by being the best friend we all want. Throw in the bandmates for Wilder Minds and we get a full cast of characters that will keep you guessing.

Like the title says “Rockstar Daddy”, there is a pregnancy that both complicates things and leads to knowing the true character of people. I loved every minute of this story and how I disliked them both in the beginning only to grow to see them more for themselves and not how the family sees them.

This story falls into the rock world the authors have built around Oblivion, Hammered and Warning Sign with Lila Shawcross coordinating all the bands including now Wilder Mind. I am unsure if this is the start of a new series or just a one-off story, but now that I am a huge fan of this authoring duo, I will eat up any new books they can feed me!

Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!
  • Oh boy! That is quite the set up- stuck together in a cabin, opposites, 1NS, accidental pregnancy, and issues. I do mean to try this author pairs rocker romances at some point.

    • Shari Delighted Read

You should try them. I got a free one last year during ARe’s Earth Day Celebration and have been hooked since. I think I have read most of what they have written together. Now they are writing under a combined name. I also got this from Kindle Unlimited so it made my day! Loved everything about the book.

  • This sounds like a fun book. I need to look into it. I don’t crave rockstar romances, but I do like them.

    • Shari Delighted Read

I mostly love the writing pair and gobble most of what they write. I loved the fact that a rockstar was going to be a daddy by the end. These two were so opposite of each other, but the hero loved that she like him for him and not being a rockstar.

  • So this is two authors who write the books?I don’t read a lot of contemporary romance but I like the rock star angel this one has.

    • Shari Delighted Read

Yes, Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott write most of the books and it looks like they recently joined their names for one author name Taryn Quinn. I love rockstar books, but I also love these authors.

  • The fact that the book made you a fan of this author’s work is enough of an endorsement for me! Normally I don’t care for rock or billionaire romances, but this review has me reconsidering. 🙂

    • Shari Delighted Read

I love rockstars but I am not a huge fan of billionaire’s. Authors seem to think they grown on trees lately. I liked this because they met as people, not their careers.

  • I like the sound of this book. I love an opposites attract romance and I have a small weakness for rock stars. I will have to keep this one in mind.

    • Shari Delighted Read

I have a huge weakness for rockstars. Especially the ones who know what faithfulness is to a woman. These two came together as people without careers….the careers just came out later.

  • I’ve not read a rockstar in a while. Looks like a fun one. Weird they combined their name after writing as two on a few.

    • Shari Delighted Read

They have tons of books as co-author, but it looks like they are going to release all the upcoming ones under a combination name. I am not sure if this is a one-off book or a start of a new series, but I loved it.
