Six Pack Ranch is a guilty pleasure I picked up during the Samhain Publishing sale recently. I am sad to hear they are going out of business with great books like this! Anyway, what’s not to like about sexy six pack men who work a ranch, handcrafted furniture business and more. They take care of business, shoot some pool and generally give the women a good time considering there are six men in this family branch.
Jaxi has been one of the Coleman’s even if she isn’t a blood relation. She showed up one day when she was a kid and made herself part of it. All the Coleman men generally see her as a little sister. She dates Travis who the same age, but he treats her a little bad. She has one of the youngest twins fall for her without trying, but Blake, the oldest is who she has loved forever.
Blake sees all of Jaxi’s curves and wants them. Unfortunately he thinks he is a old man for wanting a woman 10 years younger than him and just turning 21. He doesn’t see the love standing before him and everything she has done to make herself a wonderful rancher’s wife.
The two skirt around each other a lot. Blake really has a hang up about age and tries everything to regulate her to a friend role. Jaxi on the other hand uses some not so nice ways to get his attention through his brothers…even if that wasn’t her original plan going into it.
There is a deep sense of family to this story with the patriarch just as much as a characters as the matriarch. Ranch life isn’t easy, but Jaxi doesn’t want easy, she wants love.
While I loved the story, there isn’t really much drama to it other than two brothers wanting her as much as Blake does. She only has eyes for Blake and never makes any bones about wanting it any other way.
Set in the outbacks of Canada, you get a cold winter with a promising summer between the sheets.
