Six Pack Ranch is a guilty pleasure I picked up during the Samhain Publishing sale recently. I am sad to hear they are going out of business with great books like this! Anyway, what’s not to like about sexy six pack men who work a ranch, handcrafted furniture business and more. They take care of business, shoot some pool and generally give the women a good time considering there are six men in this family branch.

Jaxi has been one of the Coleman’s even if she isn’t a blood relation. She showed up one day when she was a kid and made herself part of it. All the Coleman men generally see her as a little sister. She dates Travis who the same age, but he treats her a little bad. She has one of the youngest twins fall for her without trying, but Blake, the oldest is who she has loved forever.

Blake sees all of Jaxi’s curves and wants them. Unfortunately he thinks he is a old man for wanting a woman 10 years younger than him and just turning 21. He doesn’t see the love standing before him and everything she has done to make herself a wonderful rancher’s wife.

The two skirt around each other a lot. Blake really has a hang up about age and tries everything to regulate her to a friend role. Jaxi on the other hand uses some not so nice ways to get his attention through his brothers…even if that wasn’t her original plan going into it.

There is a deep sense of family to this story with the patriarch just as much as a characters as the matriarch. Ranch life isn’t easy, but Jaxi doesn’t want easy, she wants love.

While I loved the story, there isn’t really much drama to it other than two brothers wanting her as much as Blake does. She only has eyes for Blake and never makes any bones about wanting it any other way.

Set in the outbacks of Canada, you get a cold winter with a promising summer between the sheets.

Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!
  • I picked this up a while back as a freebie. Then I bought the audible version for cheap, but I haven’t listened to it. I need to try it at some point. I liked her shifter books. Glad to hear you enjoyed this one. I’m really sad to hear about Samhain too. I’ve bought many books from them over the years.

I like the design change. Looks great!

I probably already had it since it was a freebie, but I picked up the whole series at the same time while I was on Samhain. Sad about Samhain. I never really bought much on their site, mostly got it through Amazon. It’s a shame they can’t make a profit.

Thanks! I am still working on the design. It’s way to white screened for me. I just got tired of trying to figure it out so I rolled it out and trying to tweek it as I go.

  • I should try this one out, I have enjoyed reading her in the past. Love those freebies.

I loved it and of course being free helped a lot on the buying decision!

  • Oh I think I have this one on my kindle. I’ve read her with Elle Kennedy and enjoyed them. I need to start working on her back list.

I have only read a few of Vivian’s books from one of her paranormal books. I am really enjoying this series, but it is going way to fast.

  • Yes, sad about Samhain, too. I got a couple from their sale and have read so many in the past. The family ones like this group of brothers and the ranch are a huge draw. Glad you liked it. I think I might have it on the Kindle. So many. Ugh!

Yep, sad about Samhain. I bought about 20 books from the sale, but it will take me a while to get through them. There are a few others I want from the them. I like these brothers. Very alpha, hard workers and they love deeply. This one is currently free.

  • A promising summer sounds nice

      I loved it!

  • Oh freebie! I grabbed it, it sounds like a fun one and it;s the first book in a series, so that’s a good thing too. Not a lot of drama can be a good thing when I am in the mood for that. And I haven’t read a lot of books set in Canada, so that will be a nice touch.

Glad you got it! It was fun, frustrating and throughly satisfying! It has a little drama over him and age, but he gets over it quick. I haven’t read many in Canada, but I do love some authors who are from there.

  • I am so disappointed about Samhain Publishing’s news! They published one of my favorite adult books, Degrees of Wrong by Anna Scarlett (a.k.a. Anna Banks). I loved that book! I guess that means no sequel. :/ In any case, I see the word “free”, I’m all for it! This cover calls to me, as does the series name. Six Pack Ranch? Yes please!

    Great review, Shari!
