S is for Studs & Spurs!

cowboy1 cowboy2They have me at ‘Howdy Darling!’ every time.  Put a man in a Stetson, some Wranglers, hand-tooled leather boots, add a western style chambray shirt along with some ranching or rodeo skills and just gah!!!  I love cowboy heroes.

I don’t really have a favorite book cowboy, but I tend to like them the tougher and grittier the better.  Spice and kink are okay and I’ve read some red hot cowboy heroes of that variety, but my studs also have to be the real deal and not just a guy duded up.

cowboy3Like in these western historicals:  Roseanne Bittner’s Sage Lightfoot in Paradise Valley and Lori Austin’s Luke Phelan in The Lone Warrior.  Added to that, I like Carolyn Brown’s contemporary Texan cowboys in her Cowboys & Brides series and Mary Calmes’ Rand Holloway a ranch owner in her Timeless series.

What about you?  Do you like your men with a little Giddiyup and Western drawl?

What are your thoughts about ?

Notable S Words I Considered

Sexy, Spicy, Sensational and Sweet – all great descriptions of romance
Shari or Sophia – Aren’t those awesome names?
Smiles– Free and needed gifts
Sizzling – on the stove or in bed, the sound of sizzle will get our blood moving
Sassy – in small doses this can be ultra sexy
Shoes – I am not a shoe girl. Can’t walk in heels and rather have tennis shoes.
Surfing – a battle with balance, the Gods and the surf

What’s your S word of the day?

I can’t figure out what it is about cowboys that make them so sexy, but they are. Maybe it’s because they can rangle down a calf or they tend to be in great shape. Or perhaps it’s their kindness to their horses. Bring them on.

I think you nailed a couple good reasons we go for the cowboys, Nana! They are very close to their horses and their working dogs. Oh and don’t forget their trucks. Haha! And whew boy! Most are very fit because of the hard work they do. They definitely get us gals worked up. 😉

I read straight westerns when I was younger, but it wasn’t until last year that I got into cowboy romance. The oh-so sexy drawl…mmhmm!

OH yes. I love me some cowboys. Love the swagger they just naturally have. Rebecca Zanetti has some of my favorites. So good!

I have yet to pick up one of her Montana cowboys yet even though I’ve read both of her other two series. I need to get busy on those guys.
