The Great Pick Up Line featuring
Archangel by Misa Buckley
“Everyone deserves a chance to become the person they were born to be, Gabe. That doesn’t make you special. What does is
what you do with that chance.”
I thought that over. “What if I fuck it up?”
“There aren’t any guarantees, not even for you.” She kissed my forehead. “You just do the best that you can.”
“That’s not saying much.”
“Gabe, if you think you’ll fail, then you will. Stop pulling yourself down and have a little faith.”
I snorted. “I don’t believe in anything, least of all myself.”
Her embrace tightened and she kissed me again. “Then it’s a good thing I do.”
I thought that was because she wasn’t quite right in the head, but kept that observation to myself. Then again, it wouldn’t have made a difference if I had said it—her faith in me seemed unshakable and I didn’t know what to make of that. What I did know was my dick was still hard.
“I wanna fuck you,” I confessed, not the best line I’d ever uttered, but the raw truth. Looking into her eyes, I saw that want reflected. “Everything else be damned, I just want you.”
She smiled at me. “Gabriel, you had me at hello. Now get those damn jeans off.”

Small time crook Gabriel Kemp is only trying to make a living when a hit-and-run leaves him for dead. Waking up in hospital to an angel at his bedside gives him a second chance, but one that comes with a condition.
Fleeing San Francisco doesn’t mean he can evade the deal either – he still manages to meet Abigail Harris, the woman he’s promised to protect. He might not believe in the psychic visions she claims to have, but he knows even the chance of her identifying the serial killer terrorizing downtown L.A. puts her in danger.
The only way to keep Abby safe is to find and stop the killer. If that means taking on the devil determined to turn the City of Angels into the City of Hell on Earth, then so be it.
