Welcome to The Book Report where we run down everything that happened in the month and update you on challenges, giveaways, reviews and more!

Shari’s Update

I promised you I would do better in March. I really thought Spring Break was my bitch, but guess what? It never became mine as I had to entertain my kids and get them clothes for summer, vacation, PE … and whatever else. So reading became a chore along with the dishes and I never got to do either much and both piled up. Throw in my 19th wedding anniversary and two birthday’s in this house and I don’t think I slept much either.

So what did I actually get accomplished?

Add 8 more books to my yearly end go tapping me at 28 books for the year. Well March put me way behind on reading for my challenge. I don’t even want to look at how many books I am behind. So, beat me up. It’s not going to look pretty.

I have actually read a few more, but haven’t written the reviews for them. I think I am up to 5.

Easy peasy.

Sophia has me looking for clues on this one!

Found a few new things that surprised me.

Taking a break from this genre for a bit.

I think I need to up my challenge on this one.

Grew, but not as much as I wanted.

Time to write some reviews!

Sophia Rose’s Update

In like a lion- oh yeah it was. Beware the Ides of March- most definitely. Wearing the Green- got it covered. March was one eventful month. I really went on a reading terror and knocked out 48 books.

Break down: 19 Netgalley (87%), 14 Author/Publisher Requests, 9 New Series, 6 End of Series, 27 from my own shelf (woohoo, finally making a good dent there)

Things Have I Noticed:

– One should not rely on reminder letters to know when to renew driver’s licence (b/c sometimes they don’t send you one and you drive around for two weeks without realizing it- true story that)

– Penguin Publishing team must have a mind-reader in their bunch. Rec’d 4 unsolicited ARCs this week that were on my wish list of future reads. And I don’t know if I’ll be able to wait and read the books I’m supposed to read first.

– I really can’t stand heroines with a spoiled princess complex (okay make that people in general, but lately it’s been fictional gal types).

– Some bloggers find the best quotes. Love shopping for future reads based on quotes.

To Be or Not to Be…Read

I have a confession to make. I actually read both of the vote books for March. I dutifully read the one that won first and loved it- thanks you all- and then later I had time so I picked up the other because it sounded good too. And it was also good so either way I would have had a winning read. We have a different pair to choose from for April so pick me another winner.

Any one else have a busy March? Any new to you authors that just blew you away this month? Do tell!

March 2015 Reviews

Did you miss a review? No fear! Here’s what we wrote about in the month of February.

The following two tabs change content below.
Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!

  • WOW Shari! How in the world have you read all of these books in March. I am completely astounded! Great job! I have a lot going on so it’s hard to read. Looks like you’ve had a busy month. 😉

    • Wow indeed, Keionda! Great books for the most part too.

  • That sounds crazy busy Shari! Hope April is easier on ya.

Sophia dang girl! That’s an awesome dent in the personal pile! And yeah the ladies sending out ARCs are killer accurate sometimes. I got a handful of ones on my tbr pile too. Yay! Happy reading in April!

    • I can’t wait. I had to put those babies in a chest and put a stack of things on it so I wouldn’t be tempted to skip the ones I need to read first. Haha! Not that these precautions will stop me particularly the Roni book.

      • LOL I know! Hers is taunting me something fierce. I have the novella out mid april to read still too. 4 more books to go then I’m digging in 😀 But I wont judge if you have to sneak the Roni one in early. I so did that with the last one when you were good.

        • Oh yes, I didn’t get the novella for review, but I do need to read it. I got her new NA one that I look forward to.
Good to know that at least one person won’t judge if I cave. 😉

          • Oh wait. I don’t think I know about the NA one! *runs to Amazon*

wait wait are you talking nice girls don’t ride? or a new series?

            • Nice Girls Don’t Ride. It looks hot.

              • Yes! That’s the one I have. Sorry! Was having a reader girl moment. Heh. It was in an antho I had no idea about. Glad they put it out on it’s own 😀

                • Hey no sweat! I get it. That Alexandra Ivy I reviewed yesterday was one I thought was brand spanking new, but it was one from an antho a few years back that finally got released separate. Oops! Ohs well! It was new to me so I guess its sorta accurate that it was new and the one before the final book. 😉

  • Good job ladies! and happy Anniversary Shari 😀

    • Thanks, Sharonda! Lots of fun books were read this month.

  • WHoohee….you guys got a ton accomplished!! I feel like this past month just flew by and I didn’t get as much done as I would have liked. Hope April is a fun reading month for you both!!

    • Thanks, Renee! Hey you did a ton. Transferring your blog stuff was way tougher than reading and reviewing. Hope you get some good reading this month too. 🙂

  • Phew, all those books reviewed, what a great job you did ! And happy anniversary, Shari 🙂

  • Lola R

Sounds like you had a busy month Shari, I hope April is better! Although you stil made some nice progress on your goals and you’re rocking that contemporary romance challenge!

Sophia I am amazed you read 48 books in a month, that’s about what I read in a whole year, lol. You’re doing great! That’s so fun that you read both of your March pick it for me books, I am looking forward to the donut review. I actually managed to read 2 of the 3 books I used for my to-be read list poll this month as well as everyone was so excited about the historical romance book I just had to give it a try as well.

    • Hi Lola!

Haha, I had a good time reading both TBR Pile vote books. Hope you enjoy the explanation of the donut. 😉
