The-Book-Report

Welcome to The Book Report where we run down everything that happened in the month and update you on challenges, giveaways, reviews and more!

Shari’s Update

May is my crazy month of birthdays, holidays, start of vacations, graduations, AP exams for the kids, finals for the kids and maybe even a dance competition. Well, this one didn’t let me down, but I also have to throw in that my laptop battery has decided it no longer wishes to survive. I noticed one day it wasn’t charging. Did tons of diagnostics and they say the batter is fine. I ordered a new charging cable thinking my old one wasn’t working. Nope that didn’t fix it. Randomly it will charge if I shut it down to keep it from losing battery percents, but that is very rare. So I sit here with 50% battery, hoping it can make it two more weeks until my new laptop gets here.

My Reading Breakdown:  9 read, 0 NetGalleys (95%), 0 author/publisher requests, 2 DNFs, 1 audios, 3 Kindle Unlimited, 6 purchased books.

Sophia Rose’s Update

It’s nearly Memorial Day weekend and I am planning to fire up the grill for the first time this year.  We’ll watch our small town parade and then head over to spend our day off with family.  Does anyone else have plans for the kick-off of summer (at least those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, LOL)?

I’m getting ready to start edits now so don’t be surprised if I disappear a bit on social media and struggle to make my blog visits for a time.  Oh, and speaking of being away, just got my tickets to head out west for our annual family camping trip and visits with family.  Can’t wait!  I keep hearing that old Southwest Airlines jingle, “Need to get away?”  My answer is yes, yes, I do.  LOL

I signed up for the COYER Summer Bash Challenge that starts on June 9th and ends Aug 31st.  My goal is to read 20 or more books in the time period and I really want most of them to be old freebies and cheapies off my Kindle and actual shelves.  There are several mini-challenges within the main challenge this year and always the great interactive fun on their Facebook page.  I’m going to participate in BINGO, Scavenger Hunt, and Short and Sweet.

The following two tabs change content below.
Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!

Great reading month. I started strong but had a really weak closing to the month. I just don’t feel like doing ANYTHING. lol

Karen @ For What It’s Worth

    • LOL! The blahs are a real thing. It got so hot and muggy these last few days that laying in front of the fan and sipping cold drinks was what I did when not working. I couldn’t even get into an audiobook. 🙂

  • RO

You both have been busy on the reading front for sure, and family things are always so fun! I’m anxious to hear about the dance competition and camping trip! Hugs…RO

Ugh laptop problems! I hope it lasts until the new one comes! And May is super crazy- I’m hoping June will clam down a bit!

Sophia, good luck w/ COYER! I’m all for firing up the grille, ha ha, it’s finally warm enough to. And yay for getaways!

    • Thank you, Greg! Appreciate the COYER well wishes. The grilling went well, but the temps were sweltering after having such mild temps leading up to it. Hope you enjoy some good BBQ-ing this summer. 🙂

New laptop on its way! Will take a bit to get it all set up.

  • 让人百看不厌的博客,真的不是很多!

  • Oh man on the laptop. Mine has been failing me lately, too. Boo!

Good luck with your edits, Sophia!! Exciting to move along in the process but time consuming and I know a little nerve racking.

    • Thank you! I’m hoping to get through edits before my vacation. It is hard, but worth it to have the story become even better. 🙂

New laptop should be here Tuesday. Only used it once on vacation because it just won’t hold a charge. Moving from Mac back to Windows, so need to relearn how to do stuff.
