Shari’s Update

What did I do this month? Besides schedule posts? Well, not much on the reading front. With the ditch, my daughter turning 16 and a trip to Disney to celebrate, I just didn’t get more than 8 books read in October. Right now? Well, I am driving home from our trip to Disney as our flights got canceled. Booo! October was a dude on reading and writing reviews. November I hope it gets better. Happy Halloween!

  1. Read: 8
  2. DNF: 1
  3. Reviewed: 4 reviews for October
  4. Reading Statistics: 2 from NetGalley or Publisher, 3 Purchased, 3 Kindle Unlimited

You can see how I am doing below, but I am nailing it! I only need 15 more reviews to finish up the Review Writing Challenge, 2 more books for Books ‘N Tunes Challenge, 14 New to Me’s and 8 more Pervy’s. *Fist pumping and silly dancing* I am so happy to be hitting these goals!

Sophia Rose’s Update

The decorations are up, the candy is purchased, the neighborhood kiddies are jazzed about their costumes and the promise of candy- its Halloween!!!!

And, I really can’t believe this month is almost over.  In real life, I was in the writer cave when I wasn’t working or being a domestic diva (yeah, you laugh and I laugh too).  But I’m very proud of myself for finishing my short story for the writer club I’m in.  And furthermore, I’m signed up for the big NaNoWriMo Writing Challenge for November.  Fist pump.

As to books, I’m gearing up for Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reader’s HoHoHo Readathon.  Lots of holiday stories have been put on the stack in anticipation for this event.  Still time to sign up at her blog.

To Be Or Not To Be…Read Winners

Yes, we had a tie last month so I’ve read one and plan to read the other one too if I can squeeze it in.  Haha!  A Most Extraordinary Pursuit was… well it was interesting.  Looking forward to a second suspense.  And for this month, looks like football is in the lead at the moment.

So, how was your October?  Read anything spooky and good?  Do Tell!

October 2016 Reviews

Did you miss a review? No fear! Here’s what we wrote about in the month of October.

The following two tabs change content below.
Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!

  • WOW! You guys are impressive. And 37 books in one month Sophia! Holy Crap! LOL

    Happy Halloween!

    • Thanks, Melissa!

Yes, its the speedy reader in me. 🙂 I lead a boring life, LOL!

Hope you had a happy spooky day, too.

Sophia is a reading goddess! Happy Halloween!

  • That’s awesome. I’ve been loving all the pictures on fb from the Disney trip too.

    • Her pictures are fun. I’ve not been to Disney so I always enjoy when Shari posts up the pictures. 🙂

You should go some time! Disney is awesome. Is it funny my husband was planning for the day we don’t have kids at home and all the extra stuff we can do like wine tasting (and I hate wine) or all kinds of stuff. I am back home after a day of driving and slowly getting back in gear.

        • Yes, I really should. My husband even has family in Florida so we could visit and have fun. Whew! Driving wipes me out so hopefully you get a chance to recover. 🙂

Thank you Mary! We love Disney World. This was our last trip to Disney for a while. We are doing a Disney Cruise next year, so it may be almost 2 years before we make it back.

  • Shari, you’re doing great! Only one DNF, and your NetGalley ratio is at 96%. You’ll knock out 15 reviews in no time. 😀 Sophia, it looks like you’re well on your way to completing those many challenges. Which is amazing.

Best of luck with the rest of the year, ladies!

Thanks Alyssa! Hoping I can knock out a lot more this month!

    • Oh yes, I am going after those challenges like a house afire. Wishing you well as you close in on your big projects and finals, Alyssa. 🙂

  • You’ve been busy Shari, hopefully Nov is a better reading month for you. 37 books Sophia? That is impressive, I only manage between 18-25. Thanks again for sharing on Caffeinated!

November is when I plan to kick out the last of the challenges hopefully and slide through the holiday season. Reading is my hobby, and if I get more than 7 read, I am doing great.

    • Haha, yes, I know. It’s crazy how fast I read when I really think about it. Love visiting at Caffeinated and hope to continue as long as you’ll have me. 🙂

  • A Study in Scarlet Women was fantastic! Dang jealous of your reading, Sophia. Hope the drive went well, Shari!

    • Yep! Need that sequel. You’ve been out doing your life stuff, lady, which is good with all the bruising you’ve taken this year so you’re only allowed a smidge of jealous. 😉

    • Shari Delighted Read

We made it home safely, but the drive was the worst part of the trip.

  • Oh it looks like a fun and busy month for the both of you. Hope you had a blast at Disneyland Shari even if you had to drive home. And Sophia… I am SO excited that you are planning in reading the pay changeling series… So dang good.

    • I can’t wait. I’ve been sitting on this series for a few years until I could finish up World of the Lupi and now I can finally see what everyone is excited about with the Psy-Changling series.

    • Shari Delighted Read

I loved Disney World, but was glad to come home. The drive was horrible, but at least it is over now. Now to get back to reading!

  • RO

You guys sure have been busy, and you deserve lottery money or big statues for finishing up all those challenges! Hugs…

    • Ha! Now that would be a great incentive to finish reading challenges. I like the way you think, Ro. 🙂 Take care!
