Welcome to The Book Report where we run down everything that happened in the month and update you on challenges, giveaways, reviews and more!

Shari’s Update

September went by so fast, but I had a blast reading and writing reviews. I wrote 16 reviews this month! I am over the moon that I actually have time to write reviews again. I have also been reading, but I fell behind on that with my obsession with Sons of Anarchy. Good news! I am done with Sons of Anarchy and can get back to reading again.

On the challenge front, I am finishing them off and I am not increasing them as we come down the final stretch to the end of the year.

Blog Ahead starts tomorrow. I am looking to get between 30-60 posts written and scheduled. I have a plan to get some of those done and the others will come to me as I go. So wish me luck in getting ahead so I can spend more time reading during the holidays!

Invalid challenge name.

I am close to finishing this one as I am about to write the last three reviews for it!

Invalid challenge name.

This was a fun challenge that I overdid. I am hoping to increase how many I get done next year!

Invalid challenge name.

Almost done! Well at the time of this writing there is only one more needed for this…but I already schedule the post to finish this off so another challenge done!

Invalid challenge name.

I over shot this one a couple of times, but it was very facinating trying so many new things like authors, series and genres.

Invalid challenge name.

I was surprised at how many books I didn’t read in this challenge. I mean erotica is what I love, but I guess I needed a change. Another challenge down!

Invalid challenge name.

This one should have been higher since the majority of what I read is contemporary. Glad I did so well and hope to do it again!

Invalid challenge name.

The numbers are low for this one. In reality I have read more than what this reports, but I have to also write the review for it to register here. So I need to get back to writing those reviews!

Invalid challenge name.

And this one will get me back to writing some more. Still behind, but I have been writing a ton or reviews lately.

Sophia Rose’s Update

This time of the year is my favorite in some ways. I love fall colors and where I live we gets some absolutely stunning fall colors. Then there is the crisp nights and I start getting a craving for cold apple cider and a crisp donut.

Things I Noticed:

-My need to bake comes out of hiding and I start feeling the need for crime drama on the TV this time of the year.

-I craved more books and my resistance to them was virtually non-existent.

-Puzzles really relax me. Until near the end when I can’t figure out how those last few pieces go in.

September 2015 Reviews

Did you miss a review? No fear! Here’s what we wrote about in the month of August.

The following two tabs change content below.
Shari is the Delighted Reader. Married to her Prince Charming and mother to two Princesses and one Prince. When she is not slaving away as Cinderella she loves to get lost in the pages of a good book. Never without a reading device and a few good paperback books, because she never knows when she might get 5 minutes to read!

  • I loved that you were able to get back to reading and reviewing, Shari. It’s great to have your thoughts and recommendations. And go get ’em on that Blog Ahead. I will do my best to help get those extra posts done.

Yay! It helps that I am not running back and forth between pre-schools this year. All of the kids are in full day schools. I just wish my evenings weren’t as busy.

Fall is my favorite time of year. I only have one kid who is born in October, but I love doing Halloween themes for her. Just bought all different colored cupcake mixes and icings. Going to make up a lot for her to take to her Musical Theatre Group since her birthday falls on a Saturday.

So much to do this month!

  • I should do that blog ahead. I seem to get a few posts ahead and then let myself get slide until I’m behind again. Both of you are doing great on your reviews.

    • It’s hard to keep ahead on posts from what I notice. A blogger gets ahead and then life happens so I guess its good to be ahead for the unexpected. 🙂

Thanks, Melanie! Never realize how well we’ve done until I see it all together like this.

I fall behind so fast! I am trying to write at least 3-4 reviews a week. I have tons to catch up on and I have been skimming books that I took too long to write reviews for. Kids are in school and while I am still busy, I do have a few hours to work on reading and writing again!

Blog Ahead is so much fun. I love doing it as it helps me get through Christmas time.

  • Wow look at you ladies just breezing through this month. I love fall too!!! My favorite season of the year is Fall. Cooler weather, Apple Cider, Football and the changing of leaves and the change in scents. Love it and many times I take many picnics and hikes since we are surrounded by the Rockies so lots of great mountains to enjoy the beautiful change in weather. Look at all those books you read though…AMAZING. And yes AMEN to Thunder on the Plains. Rosanne Bittner is just classic and I have never read a author like her.

Thanks! I love fall too. I have the windows open and hoping to air out the house today. Bought a Halloween costume for my son and thinking of making a pumpkin pie today. Fall is my favorite time of year.

    • Jealous of your Rockie Mountains hikes. I’ll bet its breathtaking. And oh yes, Rosanne Rules!!!! She’s got another re-release coming out in January through Sourcebooks that I already snagged for review. 😉

  • LOL looks like you enjoyed some erotica reads this year, You are blowing up all of your challenges!!

    • Some challenges just are sooo worth it. haha!

  • @Shari I finished most of my challenges, except for the ones I failed early this year. I am not upping my goals either, just seeing how far I can get. You overshot quite some challenges. I always love readign new to me authors or genres, so I might have to join that challenge next year. You did great with the erotica challenge, I like erotica, but I don’t read that many books in the genre in a year.

@Sophia I also enjoy fall! My baking isn’t yet as much as it used to be, but I did bake soem cookies this past week. You are doing great with your challenges! I hope you can reach all your goals before the end fo the year!

    • Thanks, Lola! You are such a creative and good cook. I love seeing you post about your cooked meals. I plan to make oatmeal raisin cookies tomorrow. Cravings. 🙂

And yes, its fun to try to make it through the challenges by the end. I’ve actually upped most of them to new levels because I didn’t have high aims at first.

      • Thanks! I am glad to hear you enjoy my cooking posts!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies sound delicious! I don’t think I ever eaten those, I hope they turn out great!

        • I really do enjoy them, Lola!

And I hope they turn out, too. I like a little crunch, but still have them pull apart. We’ll see how I do. 😉
