Protecting the one woman he will ever love, five years ago Darius Bennett sent Taylor Erickson away, rebuffed. When Taylor returns, she is bruised and beaten by a her now ex-boyfriend. Darius won’t fight the feelings he has to protect the one woman he loves even if he moved on with many women even if they didn’t mean a thing to him. He still won’t let her burrow in and tries to keep his distance, even while giving in when he can’t resist. With his business back on course, his sister settling down and life finally really good, he still doesn’t feel he can take on loving anyone.

Taylor was heartbroken with Darius pushed her away. The age difference wasn’t anything she felt was an issue. Moving on was hard for her and she picked not the greatest men to try to fall in love again. Perfect parents love her, but even they never knew what was really going on between her and Darius while she was a teen. Now faced with moving back the city she grew up in, looking for a job and a place to live along with avoiding the paparazzi out to infiltrate the owners of the BDSM clubs.

Oh, I guess I forgot to mention Darius and his three buddies own the BDSM community in San Fransisco anonymously. Well, someone is out to find out who they are and now they have information is making life hard for Taylor.

I like how strong Taylor seemed in trying to move on after her teenage love affair with Darius. I didn’t agree with Darius’s reasons of cutting her lose, but I agreed she needed to get out there and experience life. Unfortunately, I don’t feel Taylor did much. Yes, she moved away, but I think she took jobs she wasn’t interested in and took on guys who were just not what she wanted. Now when her current boyfriend abuses her, she does leave, but she has a strong heart that allows her to resolve that situation with grace.

Darius got a bad wrap when he does the right thing. His father wasn’t a great guy, but when Darius wants to take in his half sister upon her parents death, his father cuts him off. It’s an uphill battle to build up his life again. He needed to be ruthless and focused, so cutting Taylor lose was the only choice, so he won’t hurt her. Merciless in his business dealings, he has tried everything in the BDSM world, now he has to figure out if his heart and life can handle love.

This was an interesting story of strong personalities, with deep love at the core. A bit of intrigue keeps the story hopping, but make no mistake, this is a second chance love story with some issues to jump over.

This one is Shari’s, Debbie. But yes, I agree that it sounds interesting. I do love second chance romances. 🙂

This one only has one BDSM scene that I can remember. While he owns a club, you never go into it and see a public scene. The do go to his special room one time. Other than that, its pretty straight up contemporary.

I still have not tried this author, but I do like strong personalities.

I have a love hate relationship with this author, lol. Most of the time I love her, but there are a few times the books frustrate me.

I used to love the books by this author and I did read a lot of them but one day I stopped I don’t really know why. I didn’t know that she had another book out but it looks nice but I’m not that much into the BDSM side.

This isn’t huge on the BDSM. While he owns a BDSM club, you never go into it or see it. Nothing public about their scenes. There is one BDSM scene, but for the most part, it isn’t a BDSM book.

Hi everyone. I apologize for not getting to the comments sooner. I am battling bronchitis right now and trying to keep from coughing up my lungs. I will try to keep on top of things, but sometimes they may slip.

This one sounds pretty good! I’m not into the BDSM scene but it seems like that’s on the backburner in this book. I have had poor luck with second-chance romances recently, so I’m not sure if this one is for me! But it sounds good. =) Great review, Shari!

P.S. I hope you get better in a jiffy! D:
