To Be or Not to Be…Read TBR Pile Vote April

Sophia's To Read or Not

Each month, I will post up a pair (or more) of books.  I would like you to vote on a choice.  Yes!  You will have the job of telling me what to read from my pile each month.  I welcome your vote no matter what reason you choose (frivolous, serious or otherwise) that particular book and do share your reason in the comments just because I’m nosy.  I will update everyone at the end of the month in my reading update and will of course share my thoughts on the book itself in my review.

I don’t really have a theme this month.  It’s spring so I’m feeling the fever, I guess.  LOL  So I picked a couple of books that I haven’t exactly been eager to read, but they are on my shelves.  Something about them keeps a spark of interest going for them (past enjoyment of the author’s books or something in the blurb itself).  And with that bit of mysteriousness, here’s what I have for your voting pleasure:

Candidate #1

Falling in Deeper by Shayla Black
#11 Wicked Lovers
Erotic Romance

Candidate #2

Last Mile by Katie Ashley
#3 Viscous Cycle
Contemporary Romance

The following two tabs change content below.
I was born and raised near Sacramento, CA. I have read since I was four years old and developed tastes that run the gamut of literature. I went away to college and have a degree in education, a certificate in family history research, and a certificate in social work. I worked for a non-profit agency with low income families for 20 years which included being responsible for the children’s library and promoting/teaching adult literacy. I have lived in Southeast Michigan for the last 18 years and I am currently a book addicted homemaker with a cat and husband who keep me grounded. Recently, I made it a challenge to review each book that I have read as a favor to author friends who said reviews are important. I have done reviews for Good Reads, Amazon, eBay, and Smashwords, but mostly at Goodreads and Amazon.

  1. I chose Falling in Deeper only because I have read the first book in the other series and didn’t enjoy it. I didn’t want to steer you that way. Though if you’re on the third book and have read the previous, you’re already enjoying it. Happy reading! 🙂

    1. I’ve actually read from both series. And I wasn’t fond of the first book in that series either. I thought I’d give a new pair of main characters a go and see if it changes thing. Thanks, Angie!

  2. Not a fan of e-rom so you know how I voted, but i see there are many more freaks than vanilla lovers here LOL 😉

    1. Haha! No sweat, Debbie. We all like what we like and you should never be made to feel badly if you don’t like something. I’m rather a picky e-rom reader so they have to impress me with a solid story and not just a hot sex scene. Thanks, lady!

  3. I chose Falling in the Deep….mostly for the cover, I can’t lie. LOL! I’m also not the hugest fan of MC romances so that’s why I didn’t pick the second one. Whichever you end up reading, I hope you really enjoy it!

    1. Hey, those are great reasons. Yes, that is definitely a sexy cover. 🙂 Thanks, I’ll do my best. Truthfully, these are older unsolicited review books and I had trouble with both authors at one point so my expectations are moderate this go around. 🙂

    1. Yeah, that was my reaction when I saw them still waiting over a year later on the old review stack. I didn’t request them, but still… they are there so I’ll give them a shot. 🙂

    1. Yeah, I’m getting down to it with some of the unsoliciteds left on my shelf. I thought I’d at least give em a try. Moderate expectations of course. LOL

    1. I’ve read books by both authors and had some good and some not so good so it can go either way here. LOL.
Cover love is a totally legit reason to try a book. Thanks, Melanie!

  4. Ooh the voting is close! I voted the first one because tattoos lol. I have no idea which one is better. 🙂

    Enjoy either way!
