To Be or Not to Be…Read TBR Pile Vote December

Sophia's To Read or Not

Each month, I will post up a pair (or more) of books. I would like you to vote on a choice. Yes! You will have the job of telling me what to read from my pile each month. I welcome your vote no matter what reason you choose (frivolous, serious or otherwise) that particular book and do share your reason in the comments just because I’m nosy. I will update everyone at the end of the month in my reading update and will of course share my thoughts on the book itself in my review.

December and January are always special months. They are like the daily double for me because December is crazy busy and January the recovery month. Out with the old and in with the new, one looking back and the other looking forward, etc. So I decided to ‘go big’ and do a double up challenge for myself. We shall see how this goes. Haha!

And what I mean by double is that the vote will still be for two choices, but the two choices will be pairs of books. And I don’t mind if your vote is based on only one of the books in the pair. Suit yourself and pick me a pair of winners. J

I was born and raised near Sacramento, CA. I have read since I was four years old and developed tastes that run the gamut of literature. I went away to college and have a degree in education, a certificate in family history research, and a certificate in social work. I worked for a non-profit agency with low income families for 20 years which included being responsible for the children’s library and promoting/teaching adult literacy. I have lived in Southeast Michigan for the last 18 years and I am currently a book addicted homemaker with a cat and husband who keep me grounded. Recently, I made it a challenge to review each book that I have read as a favor to author friends who said reviews are important. I have done reviews for Good Reads, Amazon, eBay, and Smashwords, but mostly at Goodreads and Amazon.

  • I voted for choice two. As I thought The Burnt Toast B&B is a fun name for a book. I usualy like reading about bed and breakfasts. I hope you’ll enjoy the books that win 🙂

    • That is a hilarious name for an inn and the guy on the cover looks full of mischief. I think it will be a fun read if it wins.

  • The duke’s disaster!

  • I voted for choice 1. Hope you get to read the ones you want!

    • LOL! I really couldn’t decide and I want them all so you are perfectly safe to vote wherever you like and I’ll enjoy it. Thanks, Lorna!

  • Oooo hard choices! I’m trying to hit Jan with a bang too. Still gotta do the throwback read. *gasp* We can do it, right? lol

    • Yes, you can! 🙂 I did a cop out again and went with audio for my throwback so I could do some chores and baking and I picked ones that weren’t as far back b/c I wanted to re-read so I’m ready for the new release in a series. I’ll let you know what date Shari gives me, but if you’re swamped don’t worry about it.
And yes, I am really going to push hard to get through older books. I joined four different challenges that will, in theory, help me work my way through older books on the shelves. 🙂

      • LOL I think that sounds like a fantastic idea though. I’ve got a few audios I could tackle. Hmmmm. I’ve gotten a good jump on my 2016 ones so far so should be good to go with a little free read time just let me know a posting date 😀

And ahh the challenges. Yeah I’m hoping the blogger shame one does it or me. That’s the one I’m gonna focus on for 2016. I would LOVE to have just current titles (current month and future releases) on my pile. Whew!

        • You and me both. I saw that challenge and really wanted to achieve it, too. I’ll definitely be cheering you on as well as myself. 🙂
