The Delight
This was a very short story that introduced me to a sci-fi world that could be interesting, but the way the story flowed I am not sure I will continue. There were elements that intrigued me though, so it may be something others might like.
Review
While this wasn’t a horrible story, it was kind of abrupt and seriously left you hanging at the end. Zoey is stationed at a post in the middle of nowhere with hostile animals wreaking havoc on the base. Sexually harassed with no outlet of her sexual needs, she isn’t in a good place. When an alien ship asks to dock for repairs, she is sent as the person to talk to them even though this race of aliens have archaic ways of dealing with women.
Dexanon Xa’a sees Zoey and instantly knows she is his mate. He expects her to feel honored and bow to his wishes. What he gets is a loud, independent woman who isn’t bowing for anyone.
The story is quick and leaves you wanting something you can’t name. In the end you don’t get a real HEA and leaves you hanging. The series seems to go on this way with quick hits for the characters, a little drama and then boom, wait for the next one to come through.
I wanted more even if it was short, so I am not moving onto the next. You may like this style, so I wanted to put the review out even if I didn’t enjoy it.

Not for me, I do not think.
I wish I had passed. I wanted more of a story.
Leaves you hanging for a real HEA? Oh I do think I’ll pass. Brilly review.
They were getting along, but something happened that made me feel like the story wasn’t over.
I don’t mind a quick alien romance story, but I do need to see enough romance development that I can believe in it. I think pass. 🙂
It just never quite built up the romance part of it. It was “I am man. You are woman. Weak” kind of stuff. Then there is that moment she does something that makes them fall in love and boom a conflict happens and it ends. To get the story you have to get the next book and I read that’s how it goes. Just not long enough or world building enough to me to believe they really loved each other.
