After having read and enjoyed other books by this author, I was eager to try this one.  I love werewolf stories and the blurb was intriguing.  I also got a bit of a shocker too when I began reading this shorter piece.  Werewolf zombies?  Go figure!

It’s been a year since Liam kicked Kyle out of their pack and Emma went along with the decision refusing to leave with him.  Now, she is in desperate need of his help so she swallows her fears over what is happening and fear of his rejection to approach him.

Kyle is still angry and wounded over Em’s choice to let him go.  He wants to refuse her, but just having her in his presence brings all his old tender and passionate feelings back in a rush.  He never stopped caring and he can’t turn his back in her particularly when he sees what she and the rest of the pack are up against- mindless, raving werewolves controlled by the pack leader, Liam.

This one jumps right in with no set up though it isn’t that hard to figure out most of what happened in the past and what’s going on in the present.  It’s a short story that has a nice solid plot.  I wanted a little more about what was behind the whole black magic and zombie-ish curse stuff but for the most part I was well satisfied with the second chance for Kyle and Emma, their passionate encounters and the danger elements.

I would recommend this one for the paranormal romance lovers who are just looking for a quick, short yet satisfying read.

My thanks to Net Galley for the book for review purposes

About Shawntelle Madison

Shawntelle Madison is a web developer who loves to weave words as well as code. She’d never admit it, but if asked she’d say she covets and collects source code. After losing her first summer job detassling corn, Shawntelle performed various jobs—from fast-food clerk to grunt programmer to university webmaster. Writing eccentric characters is her most favorite job of them all. On any particular day when she’s not surgically attached to her computer, she can be found watching cheesy horror movies or the latest action-packed anime. She lives in Missouri with her husband and children.

I was born and raised near Sacramento, CA. I have read since I was four years old and developed tastes that run the gamut of literature. I went away to college and have a degree in education, a certificate in family history research, and a certificate in social work. I worked for a non-profit agency with low income families for 20 years which included being responsible for the children’s library and promoting/teaching adult literacy. I have lived in Southeast Michigan for the last 18 years and I am currently a book addicted homemaker with a cat and husband who keep me grounded. Recently, I made it a challenge to review each book that I have read as a favor to author friends who said reviews are important. I have done reviews for Good Reads, Amazon, eBay, and Smashwords, but mostly at Goodreads and Amazon.

well that an interesting mix. Werewolf zombies, I don’t know… I have seen this author before but haven’t read her books. Maybe I’ll start.

This one was a quick leap into the story and race to the finish. It didn’t have the development of her other series which gets quirky too. There are no werewolf zombies, but she does have a werewolf with a neurosis and several other species that are in her counseling group. And this is alongside the action and romance stuff.

LOL werewolf zombies?1 That’s a new one. I haven’t tried her before but it sounds like one I just might like. I do love a good wolfy tale 🙂

This one is a shortie! It jumps right in, tells the story and jumps out without much development. Her better stuff is in her Covet series I think. I could see her really maturing as an author from the first book on through.

Alright I will give those a try! I love when you can really see an author growing with each book.
