Going through my Kindle, I found some short stories by Eliza Gayle I had never read before. I decided to remedy that pretty quickly and grabbed up this little gem. My only disappointment was it acted like a series, but I don’t think any more books came from it, or nothing I can find.
Aidan and Carly were a hot couple eight years ago on the cusp of getting married, but Carly had some darker desires she just could confess to Aidan. Instead she calls of the wedding saying she needs to see the world and heads off. When Aidan realized she wasn’t coming back, he too headed off to see the world, but never stopped loving Carly.
Now Carly’s twin brother is embroiled in treason and Aidan is sent to ferret him out through is sister. Instantly lust rebounds in them both, but also the tendrils of love that once blossomed between them. They are both older, wiser and comfortable with the darker desires they both crave.
While I only had one big complaint of this not turning into a series, I was a little disappointed this was so short. They go from zero to sixty awfully fast, landing in bed with each other again. It helps they have a past, but even with that, they jump extremely fast to the end with a happily ever after.
There really isn’t much time to build the characters and get to know them, but the actual story of their break up and reconnection is sexy, hot and melt your Kindle extreme.
For a quickie in the afternoon, this will give you an afternoon delight!
