The Delight

Opposites Attract in a Second Chance Romantic Comedy between a Thief and a Cop was just the fun premise that had me one-clicking when this was a freebie.  Quick, fun, and sexy crime caper romance!

Review

Lily expected the cops on her doorstep when she’d just committed a crime, but worse, it was her ex putting her in handcuffs and not looking any happier about it.  Lily has some fast talking to do.

Luke made the biggest mistake of his life when he reacted badly to her confession to being the daughter of a notorious thief and broke up with her, choosing his career over her.  Now, he has her outlandish story and has to choose once again.

This is a novella-length story so it worked fast.  It helped that its a second chance romance so I had no trouble jumping in at this point in their lives when the pair have a new encounter and a new chance.  It spiced up quickly when they admitted to having a continuing attraction and feelings.  But, they have to get Lily out of her jam.  I love ‘heist’ stories so that made this one even more fun.

I had a good time with this one and would definitely pick up other books from this author under this name or her CJ Arthur name.

I was born and raised near Sacramento, CA. I have read since I was four years old and developed tastes that run the gamut of literature. I went away to college and have a degree in education, a certificate in family history research, and a certificate in social work. I worked for a non-profit agency with low income families for 20 years which included being responsible for the children’s library and promoting/teaching adult literacy. I have lived in Southeast Michigan for the last 18 years and I am currently a book addicted homemaker with a cat and husband who keep me grounded. Recently, I made it a challenge to review each book that I have read as a favor to author friends who said reviews are important. I have done reviews for Good Reads, Amazon, eBay, and Smashwords, but mostly at Goodreads and Amazon.

This sounds like fun! I do enjoy these shorter reads from time to time so I will keep this one in mind.

I love a good cop and thief story. It’s been a minute since I’ve read one so I definitely need to pick this one up! Great review, Sophia!

It sure made things humorous when it starts off. 🙂

This looks cute and second chance romances work well for a novella. Great review!

I had a good time with them and their romance being already introduced made sense that it sped along where it left off before.

I love a quick, fun romance, and I’m also a sucker for a second chance romance. Awesome that this freebie worked out! Fab review, Sophia Rose! 🙂

Oh quite the set up. I do appreciate when they already know each other in novellas. Makes the short length/romance a bit more believable.

Fur sure! They couldn’t be more opposite in some ways, but she’s not all that she seems.
Agreed. The shorter length didn’t feel unbelievable b/c of the reunion aspect of things.
