Oh how did I miss this one?!?!? While reading the series, you see that Richart has a human girl friend, then in the next book they are together. So I knew I had to hunt down their story and wham it was a novella, so I could get through it fast.
Richart battles vampires every night. Saving a human should be that unusual until she gives him a kiss he can’t forget. Terrorized and bitten by a vampire, Richart erases Jenna’s memory of that night, but can’t seem to let her go. Checking in on her nightly he watches over her until he can’t resist going into the drug store where she works to ask a question and start the ball rolling to get a date he doesn’t even know he wants.
Jenna senses she knows Richart each time he comes in, but can’t place where it is from. Raising a child as a single mom, she is making sacrifices for her son to attend medical school. Why would Richart want her?
Though a course of dates these two fall in love, but never make love right off. They get to know each other without Richart revealing he is an Immortal Guardian. But when Jenna gets sick, it is a race against time to find out what is wrong and a race to pack a life time into a mortals time span.
This is a sweet old fashion love story with the twist of Immortals and vampires. Richart’s French old world charm meets single mother raising a college student. It all made for a delightfully sweet romance that allowed me not to dwell deeply on the overall story arc, but the characters themselves. Loved it!

I think I would be able to relate to the heroine very very much!
Richart and Jenna’s story sounds pretty good. Good catch! I’ve gotten a few surprises like this when a series has some smaller stories tucked in between that I didn’t know about.
