The Delight
I recently became a fan of Lili Valente’s work so when I saw she wrote a story with Lauren Blakely, I had to try it. In audio was better since I was driving a lot. A cute but short story with not a lot of drama or things that had to be worked on too hard.
Review
CJ, a young successful entrepreneur, and little sister to Graham Campbell’s deceased best friend and business partner has decided it is time to lose her V Card and Graham is the man. Enlisting his help, she wants to learn how to seduce and please a man. In return she will help him win over the board that wants to sell his company off.
Graham has decided he is taking a break from women and sex. His company is at risk of being sold to the highest bidder and he needs CJ’s help to change their minds. One little problem, his best friend’s little sister wants him to break that promise and teacher the fine art of sex.
CJ has harbored a crush on Graham for years, but never acted on it. She intends to learn everything in this one week he has agreed to teach her and walk away with her heart intact, right? I commend Graham for changing the rules up some and making this about her seeking her own pleasure and knowing what a man should do not what he should expect. He seduces her, and all the funny feelings I would have thought would have arised, never showed up.
This is a friends to lovers romance that wasn’t really complicated. Graham has never felt love so it took a bit for him to realize what is was when she leaves him. CJ learns she really can’t keep her heart at bay. The two are powerful business owners that match up well as friends and lovers.
Sebastian York and Andi Arndt bring the characters to life and make you believe they really are conversing in front of you. They drew me in with the right cadence for the story to feel very short, but also very sexy. While I enjoyed this, it did come across as very quick, short and over before I knew it kind of romance. I liked this pair, but I also like them by themselves.

I heard a lot about Lauren Blakely but it’s not an author I have tried yet
She must write so fast! It seems I am getting hit by a lot of her books lately. This one was a stand alone at least. I am going to continue reading her books, but unfortunately, I have some commitments I need to get through first.
Fiends to lovers is a great trope. I also like enemies to lovers. This sounds good.
Me too! I kind of needed this one to be a little sweet when I was listening as I was going back and forth from the hospital an hour away.
I like the sound of Graham. Hm… I may have to give this one a try.
Oh, I liked Graham a lot. When he gave in to her, I was so turned on by how he started “teaching” her.
I do enjoy those uncomplicated ones especially in a friends to lovers. What a great narration duo, too.
I was glad it was easy a the time. Needed something not to dark when I was going back and forth from the hospital.
I have the ebook of this one but haven’t had the chance to read it yet. I do love Sebastian York and Andi Arndt so audio sounds like a great choice. I like the fact that this one isn’t really too complicated. Sometimes a simple romance is just the thing.
The narrators are magnificent! Andi Arndt is one of my favorites. Sometimes we need to clean the palate with simple romances.
Favorite trope Best Friends sibling. Sounds like a easy read.
I haven’t ready many of the best friends siblings things. Not that I shy away, just hasn’t come up much in my reading.
Mhmmm sounds like I might like it.
I think I might have liked it more if I had started at the beginning of the series, but I still enjoyed it.
