Zoey Hodge is back in Buckhorn to take care of her mother. Low and behold who picks her up from the airport: Garrett Hudson, the one boy she had a crush on in high school. Wouldn’t you know it that a baby puked on her on the plain and now she’s making such a bang up impression on the handsome hunk? The once quirky, dance to her own tune girl wants to get into Buckhorn and back out again to avoid her past coming back to haunt her.
Garrett Hudson has always been turned on by Zoey, even in high school. She had a boyfriend then. When things ended badly she left town. While he hasn’t forgotten her, he hasn’t pined either. Now a firefighter that owns his own home, he is every woman’s dream in Buckhorn.
I love how these Buckhorn men take in their women and protect them from everything. Even the crazies. Even Shohn and Adam do a bang up job of being the comic relief at times.
So Garrett isn’t going to let this chance slip by and he makes a determined effort to win her over and bring her pet grooming business to Buckhorn.
The story is super quick, easy to follow and end way to fast. Something happened in the past the sent Zoey off, but now she has to face up to the nasty people who will never forgive her while also trying to change someone’s life. Garrett and Zoey work in a fun easy going romance that leaves you feeling sweet and good.

oh I love these type of endings!!! I really need to get started on this series. Lori Foster is simply wonderful to read.
She is wonderful and Buckhorn is about family and a lazy lake city.
Aye, more Foster for me one day
Yep, that ends the Buckhorn review run I went on. I read them back to back so they all got reviewed back to back.
I like that you point out that he isn’t pining and they lived normal lives, but just happen to be attracted in the present. It’s always hard for me to believe someone is ‘pining’, but lets years go by and only chance meeting fixes it. This way sounds more real.
And yeah, what woman wouldn’t want a financially stable guy who is also a firefighter. 🙂
There are two of those type of books in this series. They aren’t pining but never forget. But when those women come back, wham, it’s on and they aren’t backing down!
Oh yes..I need to read these. I have read her two most recent series and these are on my wishlist!
This one came out at her RAGT conference in June, so I grabbed it up. It also was in the back of one of her Ultimate books, I think. It’s pretty short, but the series is one I adore.

ugh thats the sad part for novella type books is that they are way too fast, especially if the characters are very enjoyable.
Okay Shari, you sold me. A Foster Recommendation for a Foster virgin? heh
*sigh* I really need to get to read Lori Foster soon !
I highly recommend her. Now I don’t have time to go back and read everything she has written, but the three series I have read, I love.
You are on a Lori Foster kick.
This one is it for 2015. Next will be in 2016, but I don’t have one of her books on my list right now.
