Welcome to my first post of the year of the Blog All About It Challenge. This is the beginning of my second year participating.
What’s it all about?
Very simple! Each month I take the word prompt for that month and create a blog post of anything I want using that word. My personal goal for participating in this challenge is for you to learn a bit about me each month.
This month’s prompt is: TWINKLE
I can’t believe it’s already the last Blog All About It post. It’s been fun thinking of ways to do the prompt and sharing a bit about myself each month with you.
I’m sharing our outside TWINKLE lights with you. I’d have shared the inside ones, but I’ve hesitated to put them up without due thought as to where I can put the tree to minimize the damage our two cats will (yep, that’s a when not if) do to the tree as soon as lights and ornaments are in play.
So, enjoy some twinkle lights from your cozy place inside under your throw blanket near a crackling fire.
Do you put up Christmas lights outside or on the tree? Do Tell!

I love looking at everyone’s lights, but we do not put any up. They had professional decorators, where my aunt used to live in Brooklyn, and wow! Those displays were amazing.
I have fun walking through the neighborhood and seeing everyone’s displays. I know of two homes that had pros come in and do it. It all looks so nice, doesn’t it? 🙂
We put up our christmas tree with lights and then this year is our first year in about 8 years having a balcony, so it’s the first time for outside lights too. I love the lights, it’s one of my favorite parts of the season. Do you know if Anna is doing this challenge again in 2020? I think I’d like to participate!
Yay for first-time outdoor lights! I used to drape greenery and lights along our apartment balcony, too.
I’m really not sure, Berls. She’s been on a bit of sabbatical from blogging lately and working on some real life stuff. I haven’t seen even a hint about challenges. Maybe she’ll be doing them and just not announcing until after the new year. 🙂
I only put lights on the tree. I like looking at the lights others put up outside though.
It’s probably lovely when you turn out all the lights except the ones on the tree. 🙂
I love twinkle lights and I put them on outside and inside but then I don’t have pets to deal with. But I do lots of garland and pinecone decor. Its always so fun to put up Christmas lights, really gets you in that Christmas mood right?
They definitely get me in the mood. 🙂
I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by! The lights look pretty! I love my cats, but they can cause so much havoc, right?
It sure has flown by for me, too.
Oh man, they are making me eat my words this once. They destroyed a Halloween ornament so I thought for sure the Christmas ones were doomed, but so far so good. Just a knocked over floor stand.
Pretty!! My family has some lights outside, but not a ton. We have a lot more inside, though we do have a smaller, fake tree this year because of my cat. We didn’t know how he’d do with a tree. haha

Glad I’m not the only one chicken to test my luck with the cats. Haha!
I’ll bet even a few lights outside still perks up your house nicely, Lauren. 🙂
We don’t put up a tree just because of the cats. I know it would be a total mess due to very rambunctious cats. I do love to see the outside lights around here though.
I totally get why. I had to readjust pretty much all decorating I did to keep them in mind. 🙂
Yep, my outside lights were safe and we had some groans and laughs getting them up.
eeek! I can’t believe it is the end of the year! Hopefolly we can jump in this challenge again.
I’m with you on both counts, Carole! 🙂
We have light in the tree, but not outside. A few neighbors have some lights outside or on their balconies. It always looks quite festive. I like them.
I finally got brave enough to set up the tree with lights. I’ll bet your tree looks great and its fun to see other people’s decorations. I’m really lucky to have very creative neighbors in two houses across the street so I can look at their lights each night. 🙂
