The Delight
Getting a quick romance at the holidays with a dance and hockey player. It’s sexy and fun to watch these two overcome their issues, but still enjoy the season.
Patrick “Trick” Niemeyer where have you been all my life? Oh, right playing hockey in New York. Well, and the fact that you are seeing Stella Slovinski. These two met in a previous book in the Play by Play series and had a quick fling. Both got busy with their own careers and drifted apart. Stella is a dancer while Trick is a hockey player.
Now a year later they run into each other in a bar and the heat between them hasn’t gone away. Still keeping it light, they embark on a sexy relationship that Stella is quick to point out isn’t a relationship. Stella once had a wonderful relationship go bad and has sworn off having them. But Trick has fallen hard and he wants more than just sex when they have time.
This is a quick and sexy story that hit a few wonderful buttons as I just recently visited New York and Broadway. I was fun to see what Stella does for her love of career, which kept me thinking of all my daughter will have to do one day. Then throw in a guy who isn’t afraid to get on the ice and rough things up.
These two worked great together and Trick showed her not all guys are the same. Some have some integrity.
A wonderful way to start the holiday reading, Holiday on Ice is a cute, sexy read from beginning to end.

I need to get on board this series and my, those covers… *drools* Great review !
Those covers grab me too, Iza! I think I’ve actually petted the two paper copies I have. 😉
My precious…my precious!
😉
I could sit and stare at the covers all day! Thank!

I’ve read a couple of her books and really enjoyed them. I’ll have to give this one a go as well.
I’m behind on these too, Mary. I jumped in for a middle book, but Shari says the best ones are the beginning ones.
Your TBR pile is way to big Sophia!
Ugh, don’t I know it. And my wish list is even worse. I need to stop hanging around with you people. Haha!
Loved this quick holiday story. Jaci Burton knows how to write heroes/heroines I can adore.

Yay! I really enjoyed this one too. It really was a nice little holiday treat 🙂
Quick and sexy. It hit the spot for a holiday read!
This does sound like a fun holiday treat- hockey player and dancer. If he’d been a football player, you’d have been an absolute puddle of goo! haha!
She had me at dancer. But then if it had been football player, I think I would have been sitting in drool while I read it.
That’s what I thought. I know football is your weakness and you adore books with dancing or dancers in them.

Oh great review!!! I love the sound of this one…I have been meaning to try this author out. These two do sound like a great couple though.
This one is a quick read and I love Jaci Burton. She writes real people who get their sexy on!

I tried last years holiday read and it was part of a series so it made me feel left out..but I really need to try more by this author. I love the sound of this..delightful review Sophia!
Yeah, some are like that and don’t standalone very well which can be a bummer. Hssst, this is Shari’s review, but the compliment is nice no matter what. 😉
I’m a Jaci Burton fan with a few of her books, but haven’t read her work in a while. I actually love this cover. Hugs…www.intheknowwithro.blogspot.com
The covers are totally delicious!
Her Play by Play series is wonderful! Well, I liked it through book 3 but have kind of given up on it except for spot hits.
Haha! Maybe I am becoming a better reviewer writer now that I am being called Sophia!
Haha! So not true! You organize your thoughts and put them so much more concisely than I ever could. We do not need two people writing mini novellas for every review around here. 😉
Last years was a follow up to book 2 in the series if I remember correctly. I am not a huge Liz fan, but she wants that baby so much in that book! This year’s novella is about side characters from another book. They hit it off in a one night or couple night stand, but separated due to schedules and work. So there isn’t much to know except she loves hockey, doesn’t commit to any one and loves her dancing career. Trick is just a guy and hockey player. So I think you can enjoy this one without too… Read more »
