Just a refresher for those who have forgotten or a quick explanation for our new readers-
Each month, I will post up a pair (or more) of books. I would like you to vote on a choice. Yes! You will have the job of telling me what to read from my pile each month. I welcome your vote no matter what reason you choose (frivolous, serious or otherwise) that particular book and do share your reason just because I’m nosy. I will update everyone at the end of the month in my reading update and will of course share my thoughts on the book itself in my review.
So far in the three months we’ve done this, our readers have helped choose three books for me and I’ve read and reviewed all three. It’s more fun than I imagined letting you pick a book for me to read each month. I look forward to all the books you pick out in the New Year. Speaking of the New Year, let’s get to the good part.
Since this vote is for the first TBR book of the New Year, I’ve decided to go with the New Adult category. I’m going to make it tough on all you cover art tire kickers and those sports romance lovers out there and make you choose from two that have very similar covers, are both sports romances and both tackling a new series. *cue evil cackling*
First up, we have Sawyer Bennett’s Alex, book one of the Cold Fury series. Hero is a hockey player

And choice number two is Cecy Robson’s Once Perfect, book one of the Shattered Past series. Hero is a former MMA fighter.

I’ve thought about doing this on my own blog, so I’m happy that it has worked out well for you thus far. I like that you narrowed it down to only two titles; makes things easier on everyone. I’m voting for Cecy Robson because I’ve heard great things about her writing, and need more reviews to convince me to give her a try. Hehe!

Haha! Yes, that’s a great reason. I’ve read her Weird Girls series and loved it from the first pages of book one. I’m curious to see what she does with a contemporary story.
Yeah, I thought two choices was good enough. I didn’t want to make it too hard on everyone. This was just meant to help me start knuckling down on my huge TBR pile when I really couldn’t choose. It’s helped with that and become a source of fun reading something that someone else picked.
Such a great idea — I’m glad you’ve had fun with this and I hope you continue it through next year! 😀 Maybe I’ll have to start something similar, just to get my ass in gear about reading some of my print books languishing in the ol’ TBR pile. 😀
If all my books that need to be read fell on me, they would kill me. Yeah, this is definitely helping. Feel free to steal. I hate disappointing people so once I put it out there that I’ll read their choice, it motivates me even more. 😉
. . . . yeah, my mountain would definitely kill me. And cover up the evidence. 😉
I may just try it next year. But then the hard part is picking two or three choices out of thousands! lol
And that’s a whole other dilemma. Haha! I’ve just been picking random themes and latching onto the first two books I come across in my pile that fit it.
That’s a fun post and a great idea. I picked Alex because after reading the blurb I want to know more and see if you liked it. I love those bad boys who actually aren’t all bad underneath.
So you’re letting me be the Guinea Pig? Haha! No problem! I love the bad boys with the soft hearts on the inside too, Mary!
I really enjoyed Once Perfect 🙂
Oh good! Maybe I’ll end up with it.
Oooo I just evened the score. lol I say Alex! I read one by Sawyer earlier this year and really liked it. I’ve been wanting to read this one of hers. Can’t wait to see who wins (and now I’m gonna spam whoever gets the disqus notices since holy cow yall had a lot of posts go live since I was last able to make rounds)
LOL! And that would mostly be Shari unless its a reply to a direct comment from me. Haha! But we love your visits so spam away, Anna!
Bwahaha *waves sweetly to Shari* totally just did another round of them at her. lol I think I’m caught up now though 😀
Haha! Demon woman! She’s probably busy with her revenge plans.

OK, I untied the vote until someone puts in a one to counter mine, lol.
Whew! I thought I might have to flip a coin. Haha!
