The Delight
First the Arctic shifters of Kodiak Point, then it was down in the swamps for Bitten Point, but, now, we have the dragons of Dragon Point, those elitist shifters who are far above the rest- or so they say…
But, what they are is secret as in so secret that nobody, even the other shifters, know about them. Or so they thought. A fun new paranormal romantic adventure for a poor gator shifter turned into a monster and a svelte, sassy silver dragon who believes he’s her match.
Review
As I said, Dragon point is a spin off of a spin off. It flows out of the earlier stories, but is flexible, and newbies can get away with jumping in here.
Brandon Mercer was a gator shifter from a small town near the swamps until his own uncle betrayed him by kidnapping him and turning him into an experiment and used his sister’s remaining untouched from experimentation as leverage to make Brandon do his will. Brandon escapes, but as a lizard creature, he has to stick to the shadows as he trails his uncle’s movements hoping to get a chance at rescuing his sister. Then, one night, he encounters a crazy beauty who claims she’s a dragon, but the really crazy thing is that she claims he’s a dragon and she’s claiming him as her mate. Yeah… right…
Aimi is an elite silver dragon and she’s nearing her sell by date without having made a match. Her race is struggling and every female needs to do her part. Her mother parades losers by her and she won’t have them. But, then an encounter with a dragon holding a hybrid shift between dragon and man shocks her by not realizing he’s a dragon or that dragons exist. Aimi has her work cut out for her with this cutie and she’s up for a fun romp to rescue his sister and thump his uncle for threatening to expose her race like he did the lowly shifters.
Becoming Dragon was an entertaining mayhem filled story from start to finish. Brandon is the straight guy among all the over the top crazy dragons who have a rather different outlook on things. This author writes a great balance of comedy, excitement, and spice that makes me eagerly pick up her books when I want uncomplicated and fun.
This was a first of series and introduced a whole new race. The dragon culture was interesting. Aimi’s background and her family was developed more as a result. The bad guy is a carry over from the earlier series and is shaping up to be the series-long villain. Brandon’s home and background is not developed so much here in this story, but that is because it follows through from the Bitten Point series.
Brandon and Aimi were an entertaining pair. He’s got a lot on his mind and wants to brood over his fate, but Aimi isn’t having it. He’s perfect and exciting and just right for her whether he turns out to be a dragon or a unique shifter experiment. He slowly starts to come into his own and lets her coax him into believing he’s worthy of a silver dragon. Sexy times and flirty dialogue accompany the growing feelings between them.
The hints at the end of this one set up at least two more stories and left me jazzed to see what comes next. More dragons and that wacky family of silvers. Those who enjoy lighter paranormal romance with more than a pinch of spice should definitely give these a try.

Melanie LOVES Eve’s books, and it’s great to get someone else’s positive reviews, too. This sounds like a very interesting mythology and I like that newbies can start here. Thanks!
Yes, she really does! She is far ahead of me in being caught up though I don’t know anyone who has actually been completely caught up on Eve’s books. LOL
They are fun and definitely yes if dragons are your jam, jump in here, Jen. 🙂
There is no ever being caught up on all of Eve’s books. She writes too fast. I have no idea how she does it. I enjoy some more than others, but I’ve never DNF or wanted to DNF one of her books. She has some contemporary romance (or maybe they’re romantic suspense, I haven’t tried them yet. Full human, though.) now too.
That is the truth!
Oh, yes, those contemporary romantic suspenses are supposed to be good. Shari reviewed one and liked it. I’m still reading the handful I’ve had setting on my Kindle.
I really really need to try this author
You really, really do, lady. 🙂 You’ll have a good time.
Delighted to hear noobs can jump in with this spinoff. I wondered.
Absolutely. Pretty much if its a book one in any of her mini-series then you can start there. You’ll get a slight tug that there are events preceding, but nothing that affects the current sitch too much. 🙂
I love her books. I haven’t read as many of them as I’d like to though. Here’s another to add to my list.
She is so prolific. I still need to read soooo many. 🙂
Do you get her newsletter? She is very generous and announces one of her books each month to be a freebie at most book vendors. They are usually the first books in each series. Right now Crazy is the freebie. 🙂 I know how you love when a freebie is a good one.
Melanie likes this author also. I always plan to read some of her books. But I chose more UF or scfi than PNR.
Yes, Melanie and I are fellow fans. 🙂 Not much UF, you’re right, but you can get some fun Scifi. You might like her cyborgs series the best since there is intrigue, too. 🙂
Dragon and Gator 😀 that’s kind of exciting
She puts together the most exciting shifter combos for her romances. 🙂
Intriguing! A spin-off of a spin-off? Love it.
Or just a bunch of separate series sharing the same world. LOL Though, not really since chronologically, they do follow each other in events.
Gator shifter, that’s a new one. It does sound interesting though.
Her books are full of odd animal shifters from ostriches to prehistoric huge bunnies. LOL
I love shifter stories and this one sounds like a lot of fun. What a horrible uncle! I hope they made him pay! I like that this is only 250 pages. It’s hard to squeeze anything in lately! Fab review, Sophia Rose! 🙂
These are fun and uncomplicated and, as you notice, the length works for busy days. Great stress relievers. 🙂 Crazy is free right now if you want to snag it and see if you like her writing.
This sounds like a fun read. I love how it’s a spin-off that continues the story with a long-term villain in the making. It’s interesting to see where characters go following a series.
So true! There is an anticipation build up when a series spins off a previous one.
This sounds like a fun and sexy read Sophia! I like that you get a balance of comedy, excitement, and spice! I’ve never read a bout as dragon shifter! 🙂
You hit the nail on the head, Lindy. It is all that. Her shifter stories are fabulous fun. Hope you get to try one some time. 🙂
oh wow, this book sounds amazing and I love me some dragon lovin’ 🙂 I do love a broody hero though. Great review darling.
Yes, she has another fun series to love with the snooty and madcap dragons and their special mates who may be broody. 🙂
Eve is an awesome writer. I love her work and will be adding this to my list to read! Great Review!
Mary
You won’t regret it, Mary. 🙂
