Callie Moore makes wonderful candy and has a very caring, giving heart. But her candy store just isn’t bringing in the money to stay afloat. Faced with closing her doors, she invites a candy store consultant to help her along. The night before their meeting, she is at a friend’s wedding where everyone is enjoying her truffles, but she needs a drink and that is where she meets the tall, dark and handsome Derek McNear, the best man.
Derek McNear wants nothing to do with weddings after his ex-fiance dumped him at their wedding, telling him he needs to grow up and get a real job. Drinking Tequila shots at the bar, he tempts Callie into joining him in a very erotic drinking game. Barely knowing each other they have a clandestine meeting in the walk in fridge and they think they are done with each other.
When Derek shows up as the candy consultant best known as the Candy King, the two can’t keep their hands off each other. Just one more time before they get into a business relationship. Callie wants forever with all the candy that can go with it, but Derek is afraid and this is his last job as the Candy King before becoming an accountant.
Jumps up and down on a sugar rush! Slow me down here…this was such a sweet and erotic short story of two people so right for each other! Callie is the small store owner who just wants to make candy. She always gives sweet extra treats to kids and wants the fairytale love and kids. Derek isn’t opposed to those things, but he has been burned and thinks he needs a grown up job. These two often had a problem finding a bed…no where seemed taboo or even too cold when they were together.
When Callie’s business starts to make a come back, it’s do or die for these two. And who will fight to the end to make them work? I recommend this to anyone who wants a sexy, quick read for the weekend. It left me smiling from ear to ear.
