The Delight
Kodiak Point was a great blend of paranormal romance, light comedy, and suspense. I was all on board for this associated series with more of the same just shifters of the southern variety. Definitely ready for some fun on the bayou.
Review
Croc’s Return opens with crocodile shifter, Caleb, returning to his home after many years away. He has some groveling to do all around since he cut off contact with everyone and stayed away for reasons he couldn’t ever explain. He’s barely holding it together and that’s before he learns he’s got a son and his teenage love and son are in grave danger.
This was no light and fluffy story, though yes, the bantering and wise cracks were pretty funny. Caleb and his brother take swipes at each other and also Caleb and his old high school nemesis, Wes. But the big blazing issue is with his first and only love, Remy. Caleb and Renny have a chance to repair what was broken between them. She’s hostile at first, but mostly afraid because she never got over him in spite of his apparent betrayal.
I enjoyed how the author balanced the action-suspense side of the story, the repairing relationships, and the sizzling passion. The shifter world of Bitten Point is another small town setting with a few characters introduced though much of the story focuses on Caleb.
I’m looking forward to more from the series and getting that mystery solved that was introduced in this one. And yep, more of Constantine’s killer chihuahua. What a hoot that dog was. I can easily recommend the series to paranormal romance fans.

LOL, yep, you read that right, Alyssa. It was fun.
A crocodile shifter? Wow. I’d never heard of a shifter story like this…
Yes, exactly, Evie! You should see all the different types of shifters in her earlier series. Bunnies even. 🙂
This book DOES sound good, even if the hero is a bit scale-y. LOL
Great review. 🙂
Haha! Yeah, he did get scaly once or twice. 🙂 But I did enjoy it.
wow a croc shifter that is a new one, sounds good Sophia Rose. Nibbling on her thigh to a whole new level, really LOL 😉
Haha! Yes, he was definitely a biter. 😉
well than, a Crocodile shifter? XD that is the first for me
Oh, I know. She has a whole litany of unique shifter types in her stories. Love it!
I had fun with Croc’s Return. You don’t see reptile shifter stories, so having a Croc was fun. I also enjoyed Constantine’s killer chihuahua. ^_^ I still need to pick up the others in the series. I saw they are amiable in the Audible Romance Package for audiobooks, so maybe I’ll give it go that way. Great review! This is a fun one to read.
Oh, that hilarious dog. I can’t wait for Constantine’s story so I get more of Princess.
Say, that’s a good idea about the audio option. I haven’t listened to any of them, but Melanie likes the narrator.
Ya, Melanie likes the audios for this series sand other by Eve Langlais. Now that I’m trying out the new Audible Romance Package I grabbed book 2 in this series to try out. Haven’t yet, but planning too. I bought book 1 to read, but as things go, trying to keep book cost down and then I got side-tracked on other books. ^_^
I hear you. I did better this year with not buying as many books and trying to read the ones I already have, but I plan to keep working on that next year, too.
I haven’t read this author yet but the croc shifter has caught my attention. This sounds like it was a lot of fun.
I’ve enjoyed her books for the romantic screwball comedy in paranormal or sci-fi settings, but the unique shifter types are another fun element, too.
I’ll have to give this a look-see since I adore Langlais. It does seem like she balanced all the elements well. Her banter between characters is something I always enjoy! 🙂 Great review and I’m glad you had a good time with it.
You’re in for a treat, Brandee. She does have a good balance in this one. It carries over from the Bitten Point series with the same style.
One day I’ll have to try this author. I keep hearing about her
Oh you really will, Melliane. They are pretty funny. 🙂
What a hoot, right, Nadene? His shifter side was part of his issues and I thought it was neat how it all fit together.
This looks good. I love shifter books and need to explore beyond wolves and cats.
That’s what I love about her shifter series, too, they go a little bit further. 🙂
I really love this series. I love the reptile shifters. They were so much fun.
Melanie @ Hot Listens & Rabid Reads
I look forward to them even his frenemy who’s the gator shifter. 😉
OMG Super Sophia! As soon as I saw this cover, I was thinking shapeshifting crocodiles/alligators, and looks like it was right on target. Uh…no girl! (lol) I like the action and suspense piece though, which would keep my interest for sure. Hope your day is going well! Hugs…RO
Haha! Yes, its a bit crazy, but it really was a good one. I can’t wait to keep going with the series.
A little under the weather today, but still having a pretty good day. Hope you’re having a good one, too, Radiant Ro!
I loved the few books I’ve read of hers, really need to get around to more of them!!
They are so fun and are a great pick me up when I’ve had a dreary day. 🙂
I’ve read this one and I loved it. I have a real soft spot for this authors books.
Oh cool! I feel the same way. I haven’t read half of her books, but I love being able to pick them up now and then and enjoy what comes.
Ohhh, sounds like a very “dangerous” read. And I’m loving the suspense and action <3
LOL! Yeah, he does like to bite. *wink, wink*
Now, that’s what I like hehe *wink
She has such fun shifters even when things are a little more serious. I need to get caught up with this series 🙂
Oh man! I’m really behind on her books. I still have this series and the spin-off dragons series and… and… LOL I’m going to read the ones already on my pile, but not get any others until I finish these.
