The Delight
Any book by J.T. Geissinger is a delight for me so I was particularly glad to get this arc from the author recently. Since the last book in this trilogy, Dangerous Beauty, ended in a cliffhanger, I couldn’t wait to read this one. Two lovers on the run, more than one bad guy after them, and so much action and romance kept me turning pages and loving every minute. Just a heads up, since this is a sequel, there’s bound to be a few spoilers coming up.
Review
Part two of this trilogy, Dangerous Desires, starts immediately following the second book. This means Eva has left Naz behind in order to keep him safe from her controlling and all around horrible villain of an ex-boyfriend. She goes to meet the ex and things are not what they seem in any way shape or form. Meanwhile Naz, still very much recovering in the hospital from many injuries, is going ballistic. He leaves the hospital in search of Eva. It would seem that Eva, while trying to shield Naz, has only managed to take them both out of the frying pan and straight into the fire. A new opponent is introduced by the name of Killian. He more than covers his share of intrigue and violence. He was also the twist that ramped up this book immensely. Since this book takes place on a boat a big part of the time, there was plenty of high seas drama as well as on land drama. And while there’s plenty of apart time for the couple this time around, when they do get together it’s explosive.
The characters of Eva and Naz, (aka Barney from Geissinger’s Bad Habit series) are both fully realized by the author. Eva has been through so much and has been traumatized for years by her ex and truly deserves to find a good man. She finds that in Naz, a former bodyguard, now a lethal agent working for Conner from this author’s Wicked Games series. I love how she has included characters from her other series. Naz, as well as Conner, has the credentials to keep Eva safe, but she decides to do what she thinks is right in protecting Naz instead. Kinda wanted to shake her for this-not going to lie. Tabby, from Wicked Games, is also along for the ride and I loved catching up with her as well. Killian was a problem for me. He will make you extremely mad, but ultimately I found myself hoping for him to have his own book. He seriously needs one!
The romance between Eva and Naz, of course, ramps up in this installment. There’s something to be said for romance and sensual times during extreme danger or distress and Eva and Naz were definitely up for the challenge. They do have off the charts chemistry and banter for days as well. Geissinger does banter like Santa does Christmas. She is in her element when writing banter that’s for sure!
This book does end in another cliffhanger which really couldn’t be helped due to the circumstances the characters are in. I didn’t have as big of a problem this time since I knew what was coming. I am really looking forward to the final book in November. If you dislike cliffhangers you might want to wait until then to pick up this series. They do go in order and can’t standalone so keep that in mind. I highly recommend this series and book to adult romantic suspense readers and romance readers in general. It was such a good book and kept me enthralled throughout. This author continues to amaze me with her wonderful writing and storytelling skills.

I’m curious to try her romances and I saw that a series will be released in French soon too
Oh good! I wonder which one? Hope you get a chance to read it!
holy drama Lorna I’m looking into this series it looks really good. Great review!
Thank you. I hope you get a chance to read it. So good!
The chemistry between these two sounds wonderful! I think this is a series that I would definitely enjoy. Great review!
It has been very enjoyable, but then I have never read a bad book by her and I’ve read all of them. Thank you!
Sometimes a cliffie is not horrible.
I think it depends on how bad it is and how long before the next one comes out. I’m not a fan usually.
2 books and 2 cliffhangers. Nope, not for me.
I understand. That’s why I said you could wait until they are all out in November. I’m not a fan of cliffhangers either but I do love this author’s storytelling.
I have not read Geissinger yet but I do have some of her books on my tbr list. I am not a huge fan of cliffhangers if I have to wait for resolution so I would want to wait until I could get my hands on the whole series. Great review!
I completely understand. If you want a wonderful stand-alone by her you might try Midnight Valentine. It is a romance with a side of magic thrown in. I loved it.
Oh goodness, things are pretty intense in this one. Glad it was a fab read after the cliffhanger of the last one, Lorna!
I am excited to get the last one for sure!
You have me curious. So all three books follow the one couple? Interesting. I do love romantic suspense.
Yes, the one couple. They’ve been really good, but I didn’t expect any less. She’s one of my favorite authors. Her paranormal series still is in my top five paranormal series to this day.
This sounds like a suspenseful and action packed romance. I love when an author includes characters from previous books. Lovely Review 🙂
I do too! And thank you!
This author has been on my radar for a while, but I really got antsy when I saw all the amazing reviews for Midnight Valentine. But I still haven’t picked anything up from them.
You are trooper hanging around for two cliffhangers. I just don’t have that in me! I’m glad you’re enjoying the trilogy. 🙂
Great review.
Midnight Valentine is probably my favorite book by her and I’ve read all of them. I recommend it! I am enjoying the trilogy as well although admittedly cliffhangers aren’t a favorite. Thanks!
Great review love and thank you for the warning of the cliffhanger, I don’t care for them so I will wait until the next book before I pick this series up. One thing I really love in RS is that romance and suspense mixed is the BEST combo ever!!
There’s definitely plenty of romance and suspense! And thanks!
Argh! Cliffhangers! You know how much that irritates me! I hope you get the next book soon! I think I would prefer to read them all together, so I can carry on at my own leisure!
I know, I hate cliffhangers too. But the story really is amazing and she never disappoints me so I got over it-maybe.
