A one night stand turns into a monthly hook up, but now Gabe is hooked on Addison. She fits him perfectly, but things get dicey when she moves from New York to New Orleans and wants to stop the affair without even telling him she moved. I was blown away by two single parents who parent differently but also love the same. Sensually explosive with a side of adorable.
Gabe Trahan is part owner of the Trahan Bar in New Orleans. When his acquaintance brings a friend to the bar, they hit it off and light a fire the bed above the bar. Addison Sloan lives in New York but is working a special project with a design firm in New Orleans. One and done they are not. Each month she comes down to work but stops by Tarhan the Saturday before her Monday in the office. Getting beignets, watching impromptu parades, and heating up the sheets. For six months this continues and unbeknownst to Gave, Addison has accepted a position in New Orleans, and Monday she won’t be going home.
Addison Sloan spends the last weekend with her lover of six months, but she knows nothing more can come from their relationship. A single mom to a five-year-old, Addison leads a scheduled life, instilling independence in her daughter. Having a man in her life would ruin everything that she has worked for, just like her ex did when he signed over the rights to his child to her. She has done it all on her own and truly believes only she can do everything for her child.
Gabe also has a secret. He has a five-year-old son, whose mother has passed away. He lives with his mom, who offers a lot of help watching him. Grandma also makes all the meals and does all the cleaning. Not say Gabe doesn’t help or take any responsibility, he just hasn’t had the burden of doing it all alone like Addison. Gabe also belongs to a single parent support group that he invites Addison to without giving his name.
Trahan’s needs a little TLC. Gabe and his brother, Logan, hire a firm to restore it to historical glory. Who just happens to be working there full time now? Addison. Thus begins a wonderful story of friendship, passion, and parenthood.
The children in this story are very endearing. Addison’s daughter Stella has no fear and is very independent. While Gabe’s son Cooper is very cautious, almost to the extreme. The kids actually work well together as she brings him comfort to be confident and he instills a little caution in her go get ’em life. Cooper also appeals to Addison’s cautious side. Stella appeals to Gabe’s sense of being a father to a daughter, precious.
These two had very different parenting styles, which seem to be the crux of their relationship. When Addison starts to bend, we see Gabe start to pull away believing he may have done the whole parenting thing wrong. Gabe wants more children. Addison is happy having Stella. They both have to learn there is no one way to parent correctly and we all need to accept help when needed.

About the book
Hot fling or real thing? There are no Big Easy answers in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Erin Nicholas’s sultry series.
As far as flings go, single dad Gabe Trahan is pretty sure that Addison Sloan is his best bet. Once a month, Addison comes to New Orleans and then…It. Is. On. Until Addison returns to New York, it’s just hot, happily-no-strings-attached sex. And beignets. And jazz. But lately for Gabe, it isn’t nearly enough.
Sure, maybe Addison’s gotten a bit hooked on Gabe. After all, who can resist a guy who’s so sexy, so charming, and so… available? But maybe he’s too available for her right now. Addison’s just moved to New Orleans, and relationships are definitely off the table. Besides, guys always bail when they learn her secret: she’s a single mom.
Only Gabe’s not running. Worse, he’s thrilled. But Addison never signed up for ever-after romance, and Gabe won’t settle for anything less. Now it’s a battle of wills — and when it comes to the woman he’s falling for, Gabe isn’t above playing a little dirty.
