The Delight
A new series for me to binge read with a wonderful author, Lili Valente. I stumbled upon her books through Audible and have started grabbing them up as I go. Bad Motherpuckers is going to keep my sport competitiveness revved up with a side of sexy.
Review
Justin Cruise is a unique character that had me falling in love. His swave beginning to the story almost threw me off as it came off as very cocky and condensending. Winning me back I thought would be harder, but it really wasn’t once I got to know him. See Justin isn’t ready for commitment. I get that. He’s playing hockey, loving women, knitting sexy projects and has the best friend a guy could wish for: Libby Collins. Their families lived next door to each other and while Libby had a hard childhood, Justin was there to protect her. When Justin got mono, Libby was there to teach him how to knit. They have a comfortable brother sister relationship until Libby makes a proposition that Justin can’t wrap his head around.
Libby Collins is a sweet kindergarden teacher who knits mittens and does a lot of charity work. She isn’t a femme fatale even if her sister tries to dress her up that way. Now she has a crush on the vice principal and has no idea how to flirt let alone nab him. Turning to her best friend for help, Libby wants help, but not in a demonstration way. She lines up the notebooks to take notes, but when Justin actually kisses her, it turns their relationship around in a way neither wanted or expected.
This is a cute but oh so sexy story of two people made for each other. They know the good and bad habits, the way they celebrate, how they pop off a knitting project and more. But they regulated each other to siblings until one kiss (and more) leads to them being uncomfortable with each other. The poetry was crummy, the sentiment devine and just enough sass kept these two laughing in my mind.
Libby suffers from not feeling like she is at Justin’s level, but also she now can’t understand why the vice principal doesn’t interest her any more. Justin stays the course and knows he usually has a break up quickie, but Libby means more to him. Throw in Libby’s sister who can crush a man’s balls and you have a comical story with heart.
While this is a sweet story, make no mistake it is also a sexy story with just the right amount of bedroom time to satisfy any woman. I fell for these characters with their witty banter, but mostly because of their rich hearts. A great uplifting romance that will leave you wanting to start the next one in the series right away.

I love the sound of a friends to lovers romance like this. New to me author. Glad you’re found a new author to stalk. 🙂
I love friends to lovers troupe, but this threw in the teach me how to flirt troupe as well. Her sister was a little more jaded, but also a friend of his that I am sure will get her own story. She intrigued me as she was a mama bear when it came to her sister and best friend!
Fun!!! And I do like friends to lovers romances. They are always so sweet
Friends to lovers, best friend teaching about romance and throw in he is a sexy knitter and a hockey player. He just was too good to be true.
