The Delight
What a fun idea! The mashing of ice age barbarians with an alien romance totally perked my interest. Oh sure, earth women scared out of their wits are crash landed on a primitive ice planet, but look at the compensations? Strong, protective, kind and passionate aliens looking for a lady to love. Light, humorous, spicy hot, and quick sci-fi romance.
Review
Ice Planet Barbarians introduces the situation of a dozen women captives who were stolen from earth by one group of aliens only to have their ship crash land and end up in the lap of another set of aliens. Fortunately, Georgie has some spunkiness to her and a sense of adventure so she makes first contact after the crash. Vektal doesn’t know what to make of the fragile female who turns up and happens to be his fated mate, but she’s his and he’ll do what needs doing to keep her safe, comfortable, and happy. If only she will stay…
This is not meant to be deep, cerebral, or dramatic. It’s light entertainment and it does it well. It relies on the reader being used to the lighter and spicier sci-fi romance formula and liking it. I happen to enjoy these when I’m in the mood so I was thrilled to give the author’s blue horned, tailed, and fated alien barbarians a chance.
I laughed and enjoyed this spicy rom-com set on an alien world. Georgie and Vektal were great as the romance pair. This book spent some time developing the alien differences and relationship part even while delivering some scorching hot scenes. I liked the intro to the other women and a few of the aliens. There was some backstory for both groups and a little about the alien race living there on the planet. I’m looking forward to further teasing out and the additional romances as the series develops.
All in all, this fast and furiously sexy alien romance hit the spot. For those who enjoy lots of humor and lighter storylines in a sci-fi setting, I can definitely recommend you give these a go. If I ever get kidnapped by little green men and then end up stranded on an alien Ice Planet, I will be sorely disappointed if my own Vektal doesn’t come to my rescue.

Oooo! Very original indeed!
Oh yes- barbarians and aliens. Totally works!
Glad to see you enjoyed. I like series by Dixon.
I didn’t realize how many books and series she has written until I picked this one up. Lots of fun SFR settings it looks like.
I’m definitely going to have to read more of her books. I love her aliens.
I have to as well, Mary. I got distracted by other books I wanted to try while doing the KU trial, but I want more of this series.
I love these books so much and Ruby Dixon is fun. I love these blue aliens that have hearts of gold.
This definitely a fun start to the series.
Glad this one hit the spot Sophia!
Yeah, it had me giggling a few times and was just fun stuff.
Sounds fun. I like these light spicy ones now and again. They just hit the spot. And oh my on your fated being from another world. Pesky!
It was a hoot. I want to catch a few more of these, but I started to get in a murder mystery mood so had to set them aside for now, but fun times ahead. 🙂
