The Delight
We got a hint of this new series with Master Z making his visit to Alaska, but this really starts the new series of four brothers who grew up with a survivalist in Alaska. Men with accomplishments of their own, this is a story about their toppling into love and making Rescue Alaska their own town. A delightfully funny, but also seriously suspenseful novel that will have you begging for mercy and the next book!
Review
This is the opening story of four boys abused in a foster home being saved by a survivalist and taken into the wilds of Alaska. Now the sarge has died, but he has left the boys one last mission: revive the dying town of Rescue.
Gabriel has returned home to Rescue, Alaska, but he isn’t in a good place after a mission goes bad and he wants nothing to do with anyone. The retired SEAL holes up in the cabin he grew up in, but when springs starts to thaw things out, his brothers come a knocking to give him his next mission: Chief of Police of Rescue.
Audrey is on the run. The run for her life when a research project goes where it shouldn’t and an assassin shows up in her apartment late in the night. Escaping is her only thought, but thank God she did research on how to hide and not be traced. Landing in Alaska where there aren’t many video cameras and even less Internet access, the little introvert librarian tries to lay low and blend in with the town.
The two don’t hit it off very well as Gabe catches what he thinks is a shoplifter, “Juliette”, taking groceries from a friend’s little grocery. Even when things clear up that Juliette has a deal with the owner, Gabe knows something doesn’t smell right about this situation. He has no intention of being her friend, lover or even an acquaintance, but you know Ms. Sinclair isn’t going to let that fly by. Nope, it’s time to drag Gabe into the land of the living while teaching Audrey she can trust and be a friendly introvert at the same time. The two of them enjoy a one night stand that sets off warning bells in Gabe’s head and he swears off, but it turns into two night stands, then three and…well you get the picture.
But all is not well in this little town as someone is defacing buildings and harassing visitors, causing more paperwork and plain work for Gabe. Some suspect the local cult, which isn’t a cult if you ask the head guy who is on the town council. Little by little the two main story arcs intersect and it’s time to act or die.
This was a step out of the authors comfort zone of BDSM or paranormal romances and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were some plot holes I could have smacked my head on, but in general, it was a fabulous opening novel in a new series I can already tell I will adore.

This sounds right up my alley. And, Alaska…
Glad it has you dying for book two.
You will love this. I got you started on Kylie Scott, now I need to get you started on Cherise Sinclair.
I used to want to live in Alaska, so I love the setting already. There was a also a time when I was really into Cherise Sinclair BDSM stories, and I’m surprised that she’s leaped into a new genre. I hope she has much success with this series. Hugs…
I love her BDSM books. While this isn’t on, it does have an alpha hero, he just isn’t tying her up and spanking her, lol.
Oh it’s great to find a good new series like that!
Anything Cherise Sinclair is an auto buy. I love her writing so much.
I always get worried when an author I like takes a chance with something different
I didn’t know if she would put BDSM in the story or not so I tried to enjoy it for everything it was. I really didn’t mind she didn’t have that element in it as the Alaskan town interested me more.
I need to read more Cherise Sinclair.
Yep, you do! I found her years ago and while it takes a while between books, she is my autobuy author!
Love her Master Of Shadowlands series. She writes delicious BDSM stories. I have been curious about how she would write a Romantic Suspense. Excited you enjoyed it. The first in a series always seem to be not as good as the rest of a series.
I love Master of Shadowlands! Even her mountain series grabs me. There really isn’t a book she writes that I don’t like! After so many BDSM books, I wasn’t sure if that would be an element or not in this series.
