The Delight
Opposites attract in this thrilling story in Dark Protectors. Kane the somber, logical genius up against a free loving vegan that is the key to fighting demons. These two clash in a storm of passion, irritation, and hope to save the ones they love.
Review
Kane was one character I wasn’t sure I could grow to love, especially when we meet Amber and all his dominant, logical choices get in the way. Trying to cure vampire mates of a virus that negates their connection, he now tirelessly looks for his younger brother who has been taken by demons to torture and use a pawn in their war. He works long hours, sleeps little, but family will always come first. Even if he must mate a vegan to gain her powers.
Amber is a free spirit loving hippie. She lives on an organic farm but takes up bartending when her grandma is in the hospital and they need money. When a tall, dark, and sexy stranger sits in her section, she gives him as good as he gets and tries to erase him from her mind. When attacked on the way home, she still won’t believe the stranger that she is the one who can help them defeat the demons and find his brother.
It all comes down to granny keeping secrets!
These two are polar opposites. Kane deals in reality, pain, and family while Amber is trying to the save the world as a human, saving one animal at a time and making the world a better place without knowing she has powers. They cracked me up at times and at others, I wanted to smack their heads together. Amber wants love and passion while Kane is just being very logical abut it. Clinical. He gains her powers if they mate, thus giving him the power he needs to rescue his brother. Not mating seems illogical to him because they have lust on their side and it wouldn’t be a hardship to him….oh, for all the wrong reasons dude.
The story moves onto the war front more with the demons seeming to be steps ahead, Janie (her book is coming and she is the key to the war) keeps taking chances. I can’t tell if she is just wise or if she is a dumb kid/young lady. Her mother slowly is growing weaker from the virus and it’s hard seeing Talen unable to do anything to help his mate.
Everyone is on edge and there are multiple points of view. This is another astonishing addition to the Dark Protectors series.

Oh man, I forgot about Kane’s mule-headedness about relationships and love. I’m enjoying your reviews to help me remember each of the older books.
Haha! It took me a while to get to this series and I only have a few more left to read! Then I will be waiting for new releases with everyone else. Kane was fun to watch with a hippie love interest.
I really need to get caught up on this series because I love her books.
That sounded like me when I started this series. I needed to just get going on it.
Glad to see you enjoyed. I’ve had Rebecca Zanetti on my TBR for sometime to try especially this series. One day! Thank’s for the review.
I have had this series on my TBR for years and decided it was time to challenge myself to catch up. I find I relate to her writing a lot.
So fun!
